Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Friday

22 degrees out there this morning with some wind and a cloudy sky.  I walked around town and the farm loop but went in the opposite direction that I usually do.

It's been nice walking while it is light out but that is about to change with the time change (which I DO NOT like one bit) coming this weekend and I'll be walking half of my walk in the dark.  The good thing though, is that as the daylight gets longer my mornings will be light again.
There were about 40 deer out on one of the fields.  I couldn't get them all in the picture and I had to zoom in on this group to get a picture of them that you could see.
I smelled the skunk long before I saw him dead in the middle of the road.  Off in the woods I heard a woodpecker but couldn't find him.

A couple of my horse friends came over to the fence so I could pet them and take a nice close up picture.  With the big snow pile gone I could walk right up to the fence.  There was another black horse off to the left but he just kept eating.  I call these two the twins.  They are Farmer Bill's horses.
I saw Farmer Bill's wife for the first time and said good morning to her as she was coming out her front door.  A few minutes later she passed by in a car.

I think I'll be able to do all my walking outside from now on. : )
I walked 6 miles.

I got a crock pot of my Red Ribbon Chili : ) going first thing this morning and that will be supper for tomorrow because as we all know some things just taste better the next day.   I also got some chicken cut up in pieces for supper tonight which will be the Sweet and Sour Chicken that I made a few weeks ago.

Just home today getting some house cleaning done.
The day ended up being sunny and high in the 40's.  It really feels like spring is just around the corner.

Enjoy your day and be happy.

I heard a neigh.
Oh, such a brisk and melodious neigh as that was.
My very heart leaped with delight at the sound.

Thursday

The temperature was 18 degrees and quite breezy at times.  Clouds early on but later in the day the sun came out though it did stay breezy.
I stayed around town so I could change direction when the winds came at me.  This vent coming out of the building here has nice warm steam coming from it.  A nice place to warm up your hands. : )
I walked up Barn Sale Road again.  It is quite a hill on the way up but so nice coming down.  The wind pushed me up the hill at times.
The cows were out eating one of bales of rolled hay.  I stopped to talk to them and they looked up and a couple of them walked over to me and mooed when I walked away.
The Killdeers were over by the pond again this morning and though my camera was in good working order the birds were just to fast so I still haven't gotten a picture of them.
A couple more pictures I took along the way.

I walked 6 miles.
And I found a quarter.

Took a walk over to see Sherry at Shear Delight and had my hair dyed and trimmed this morning.  Those 6 weeks sure go by fast.  By the time the next 6 weeks go by it should be spring even here. : )

Ken and I went to good old Walmart to so some food shopping.  Nice to have all the cabinets full once again.

Did a little reading when we got back home and that pretty much has been by day.
Hope your day has been a happy one.
happyone : )
