Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A chilly start

Woke up a bit later than usual so didn't get to town
till 6:50 to start walking.
It was chilly at 22 degrees, but no wind and once
the sun rose at 7:12 it was sunny.

Light enough so that I could walk around both of the cemeteries first.
Then stopped at the Jeep to pick up a couple of DVD's and dropped
them off at the library.

Sure was nice to feel the sun on my face.

Then over to the ball park for walk around there and finally
around town and a little ways down the main road toward home
and once again back to the Jeep.

The town pond had a very thin coating of ice on it.

Another very quiet morning around town.
Didn't see anyone.
Just some crows, cows, geese, and some bluejays.

😃         🎄         ☀️

Did my usual everyday morning chores around the house
in the morning.

I don't usually put up Christmas decorations till the first week in December
but got the urge to do it early this year.
So that's what I spent this afternoon doing.

Read a little as usual and also knitted and now
it's time to see about supper.

That's all I have for today.
Happy Saturday and thanks for stopping by.

You must pay for everything in this world one way and another.
There is nothing free except the Grace of God.
You cannot earn that or deserve it.

I love early when no winds yet. Enjoy Christmas decorating. We put our xmas out as soon as Halloween is over. So fun to celebrate.

Neat photos, as always. Ice on the lake ... wow, is that a first for this year?

Hi Karen. You had an even colder start to the day than we did. So glad you started your Christmas decorations. I hope you will post a picture when you are finished. I love that quote about the Grace of God at the end of this post. See you again tomorrow.

Wow, it was cold there in the morning. I went out yesterday morning and it was 32. That was at 9:30 so a bit later than when you were out.

Oh my goodness that is a very chilly start! I wish I had the energy and dedication to walk in the cold and dark...but I just sit at my table sipping coffee. It must be nice to see the sun coming up while you are out of doors.
