Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Walk and a ride

My walk started out rainy but half way the rain stopped and it was just cloudy.  It was 60 degrees.

I just walked around town on no particular route.  I wanted to stay near home just in case we had a thunderstorm.

I made a few loops around the cemeteries and then up and down the main street in town and then on a few side streets.

I didn't see anyone else out except for the people going to work.
A few rabbits were around but that was it.

A quiet and uneventful walk but one I enjoyed.
I walked 6.1 miles which for me today was 11,960 steps.

Sunset 8:16
I was looking forward to hanging the first load of laundry on my new clothes line but the weather didn't cooperate.

Everything is a bit soggy after all the rain and we couldn't do anything outside so we decided to drive to LaVale and look around BooksAMillion and Joann Fabrics which are the nearest ones to us now.  Both stores are much smaller than the ones we are used to but we did get the things we were looking for.

This afternoon while Ken was up at HT I got some cleaning done.

That's it for today.
Hope you are having a great Tuesday.

Nellie - I guess 'bad' winter is a relative term.  If you mean lots of snow than yes the winters here are bad.  At least a lot more snow falls here than what we are used to.  Last year there was 200 inches of snow during the winter!!  I hear that was a little bit more than usual though.  So we shall see.

RK - Oh yes, I have thought about walking this winter.  One good thing is that we live on a main road and they are super up here about getting the roads cleared!!  I might be able to just walk on the main road.  Might be a little boring but so much better than a treadmill.  I have tried them and I just can't do that.   I'd like to get a pair of snow shoes and just go walking on top of the snow!!  I won't be able to go as fast or far but I should be able to get a good workout. : )

  1. I would call 200 inches of snow during the winter a "bad" winter! We rarely have snow here.

One never can tell the path the rain is going to take. I carried my umbrella with me today everytime I was out of the car, but didn't need it. Then, on the way home, I drove through an area where rain had fallen, but none here at home.

  2. Ah, Happy One. Bring back the cows in your header picture. They were WONDERFUL!

  3. Hooray for having a clothesline with no rules attached!! Hope you can use it soon.

  4. Snowshoeing is a great winter workout, and with the new lightweight aluminum ones, it's almost as easy as walking. You can pack down a trail and follow it easily over and over again. That's my main winter activity.

  5. I am a wee bit envious about your outdoor clothes line. I just hung up a big load of my son's clothes here in my back bedroom/office/laundry drying room. At least we are saving a lot on electricity! Thanks for your good example! I love the rainy day pictures. We are back to sun, sun and more sun with temps to match! Have a good Wednesday.

  6. It's been raining a lot here as well. In fact, it's one of the raniest summers on record in my neck of the woods. I'm thinking of getting a boat instead of a car lol :)

Hello my friend.

I'm hoping you will leave a comment.
Thanks. : )
