Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy day

A warm and humid 61 degrees this morning for my walk today.  It also rained on and off throughout my whole walk, with it coming down pretty heavy at times.  I wore my rain pants and took along my umbrella.  I didn't really stay very dry though between it being warm and raining.  At times I just left the umbrella down and felt the rain to get cool.
I'm on the way home here when I took this picture in between the rain showers.
I kept to the sidewalks when walking today and went down to the end of Gray Rock and back home again with a little detour around the block.
I only saw a couple of people walking dogs and a few runners but plenty of cars and school buses.  All the wild life kept themselves hidden from view.
I really don't mind walking in the rain at all, in fact I quite enjoy it. : )
I walked 6.6 miles.

It's knitting day but the rain continued and I just didn't feel like going out in the rain.  So for part of the time I would have been knitting I spent reading.  I love reading on rainy days.

The other thing that is good to do on a rainy day is bake and I did that too.  I baked another batch of chocolate chip cookies. I ate one of them this time - warm right out of the oven.  Very Very hard not to eat a second one!!! Tomorrow is hair day again which as most of you know I bring cookies along with me to the hair salon for all who work there.

We need a rainy day once in a while to make us appreciate all those nice sunny days.
Hope you had a sunshiny kind of day even if it rained where you live. : )

Oh. LOL!

Looks as if you're getting a lot of color on the trees already. This always surprises me. Love the reds.

It is a very nice thing to bake cookies to take with you to the salon! I believe I wouldn't mind walking in the rain - as long as the wind didn't blow!:)

Sounds like such a nice rainy day...I would like a rainy day here, but it is still sunny and hot. Your cookies sound so delicious, especially right out of the oven. Enjoy your evening!
