Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A new look

It was quite warm outside this morning walking.  Temperature was 78 degrees, cloudy, still and very humid.  I walked around the lake.  These geese look nice and cool.
I was hoping for another rain shower but it didn't happen today.
I saw the usual rabbits and all the usual kinds of birds.  Spotted a couple of groundhogs.  I know there are a lot of them around but don't see them that often.  I stopped to watch a family of geese.  Dad in front with five little babies waddling behind him and mom coming up in the rear.  All headed down to get in the water.
Some people walk or run and keep looking straight ahead and are so intent on their exercise that they miss so much going on around them.  They just don't know what they're missing.  They might even enjoy their exercise more if they would just look around them. : )
There were quite a lot of people around the lake, but I didn't seem many people that I knew.  I think a lot of the regulars are starting out earlier than usual.  Maybe because it is light so early now in the morning.  Though now that it is summer the days are getting shorter again already.
My toe was still sore in the morning but when I put my socks and shoes on it felt better and I was able to walk without it bothering me.  When I took my socks and shoes off when I got back home my toe started hurting again. I don't know why that is but I'm just thankful it didn't keep my from my walk. : )
I walked 6.3 miles which was 12,924 steps.

That new flavor of ice cream I ate last night tasted just as good as it sounded.  I have a new favorite flavor!  Too bad it's only for a limited time.  But then I'm sure the next limited new flavor will be just as good too.

I spent some time this morning playing around with a new look for this blog.  That is such a time consuming thing to do and I have such trouble making up my mind with exactly what I like.  So anyway this is what I've come up with this time.  Hope it is easy for everyone to read.

We went out for dinner for Mexican food tonight at Tex Mex in the mall.  We like to sit out on the mall side and people watch.  We stayed for a while after we were done eating talking and watching people.

Now that we are back home I'm going to read for a while and then later have some more of that Box of Chocolates ice cream.  What a crazy name for an ice cream flavor!

Here's hoping that your day was a happy one.

I like the new look, reminds me of your lake (although your pictures are as blurry, thanks goodness :) The humidity is too much for me, I've been sticking to errands and grocery shopping getting my steps in. Admittedly, I would walk alot more if it wasn't so humid, hoping that the cold front forecasted for Saturday arrives. How true Carl Sagan was with this quote!

I am about due to change the look of my blog as well. I figure with each season ... now it is summer it is time. But you are right. Way time consuming. And I just haven't had time.

Glad your toe didn't keep you from your morning walk.
I like the new blog look. The background fits in perfectly with the pictures you take on your walks.
I had Mexican for lunch today. Yummy. I'm trying to lose a few pounds before an upcoming wedding, so no dessert for me tonight. :(

Hooray for playing around with a new blog look!!! :-) And there are so many ways, that you can do it, as many times as it feels good to you.

Yes, I love reading your (it is?) dark Green print.

It is easily readable, on the white background of where the entry posts. My impression is, this is easier to read, than the look you had before.

My eyes being "olden," I guess I need enough contrast. And I also need big enough font. But if there is contrast, I can read a smaller font.

Thank you so much for asking!!!!!

You are not going to like this but... Get thee to some kind of a foot person. No one wants to go anywhere, for anything, I know. But!!!! Please!!!!!!! Remember how important your daily walk, is to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please.

Check it out, before it has a chance to worsen...

I know. We don't want to! Especially near a weekend... -sigh-

Gentle hugs,
~♥~
