The only wildlife I saw was birds, ducks, and geese.
I'm walking down the sidewalk here on the way to the path.

Giving Thanks Day Number 12
I am thankful for public libraries.
There are excellent libraries in the county where I live and as you already know I'm always stopping in at them. I live a few miles away from four of them! We are allowed to have out 30!!!! items at a time. Books, Audio Books, DVD's, Magazines, Puzzles for kids, and even some Educational toys. I'm sure there are other things too but I just don't know about them.
I love libraries!!
Where else can you go and walk around and pick out the things you want and take them home without paying for them. It is grand!!!

At this time I should thank Mrs Claxton, my first grade teacher.
She taught me how to read and I've loved books ever since.

After being out ALL day yesterday, it is nice to be spending the day at home. It sure doesn't seem like Friday because Ken was off yesterday. I keep thinking it's Monday.
Just hanging around home doing a bit of laundry, cleaning, and just everyday house stuff.

We started watching a new British show from Netflix called Lark Rise to Candleford. It's set in the late 19th century England. It is about a young girl moving from rural Lark Rise to the market town of Candleford and how she handles life there. It's really pretty good and I enjoyed the first episode.
Most evenings I'm still having my ice cream snack. Lately my flavor of choice has been chocolate chip mint. I don't really think I have a favorite any more. I like too many to have a favorite!!

We watch Cops on television every so often. A lot of times they arrest people for DWI. One of the sobriety tests is to have the person say the alphabet. The cop will tell them to start with L (or some other letter than A) and recite the alphabet and they just can't do it. That always surprises me because you would think you could do that without even thinking about it. Last weekend I had two drinks and since I don't usually drink I was feeling pretty good. There was no way I would want to drive a car, but I could say the alphabet perfectly no matter what letter Ken gave me to start with. I wanted to have more drinks and after each one try to say the alphabet and just see how many drinks it would take me to not be able to. But I thought maybe that was not such a good idea, I wouldn't feel so hot the next day. :-) I wonder though just how many drinks it would take!!

Well, its 2:30 now and time for me to go and do my exercise DVD. I've been good about doing it 3 or 4 times a week again.
A happy Friday to you all.
Happyone :-)

You're very lucky to get so much for free at your library, as I've said before the only thing we get free are books and then if you forget to bring them back in time there's a heavy fine. We find the sobriety tests quite amusing as we don't have them here in the UK. If you've been involved in an accident or the policeman is suspicious then you have to blow into a breathalyser. No questioning that. I would love to be stopped because the first thing they ask is when did you last have a drink? As someone who is almost teetotal (try having a 2 week hang-over!) I would have to reach far back into my memory, maybe last Christmas for more than the odd sip of wine from Peter's glass though I did have a sampler tot of a Baily's type cream liquer at M&S a few weeks ago. mmm.
Goodness! I can just see you drinking and drinking until you couldn't say the alphabet any longer. :)
I am also thankful for libraries - they were a lifesaver when I was a child. I still use them for mags, though I usually read books now on my Kindle. The lady who was walking backward is following research that says we strengthen the right brain when we divert from established patterns. (You can do the same by varying the direction you walk in also.) Or - maybe just put your toothbrush in a different hand! I bet you'll think of me tonight when you try it...
Why I was at 3 libraries today...funny huh?

Walking backward. I'd say it can also increase one's chances of falling, since you can't see what's in your path. :-)))))))
Oh my yes! Public Library Systems are wonderful! Today I came home with an interesting new book, and a DVD of a film, I've never seen. Cooooooool!!!
