Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Lunch with Debbi and other stuff

Another rainy misty morning for my walk around the lake. All the usual wildlife were out but today I saw my first Bluebird. He was beautiful!! The blue really stood out against the pink blossoms of the tree he was perched in. No luck getting a photo of him though. I stopped a minute to chat with Barbara. She was the one who adopted a dog and then found out it was about to have puppies. The dog had 5 puppies (another walker had told me 7) and they were 2 weeks old yesterday. Mom and all puppies are fine. Mom was out getting some exercise walking around the lake. :-) Barbara has decided to keep TWO of the puppies!

I got the ingredients together for a Mexican Meatloaf and got it going in the slow cooker for supper tonight and then did a few chores around the house.
My daughter Debbi picked me up and we headed out to Mimi's Cafe to have lunch and spend a little time together. Today we splurged and got dessert too. We both got a petite size dessert of Apple Crisp with vanilla ice cream. It was just the perfect size and was delicious. Debbi works from home so once she dropped me back home off she went home to work. It's really nice living close so we can do this every once in a while.

On the way home we were talking about the Twilight books (she is reading the fourth one) and when I got back home the first thing I did was to sit down and read. I'm reading the third one and will be done with it late tonight or tomorrow.

I went around the house watering my plants today which I don't do on a regular basis. I water them only when I think of it and sometimes they go weeks without water and yet they thrive. I'm surprised they haven't all died by now!

Watched an episode of Bramwell - a sad one tonight. Had Welsh Cookies for my snack and did some knitting.

And so another day ends. Hope you had a good one.
Happyone :-)

I always get excited when I see a bluebird. They are such a beautiful shade of blue and I can imagine how pretty it must have looked in the pink tree. I have 2 bluebird houses in my yard and they both have nests in them. Yippee!!

I water my plants on Wednesdays. The reason I do it on that day is that Wednesday and water both start with W which makes it easy for me to remember which day I watered. :-)

Your afghan is coming along nicely and such pretty colors.

I have never seen a bluebird and am unlikely to see one in the UK! Your day sounds lovely and so calm.

We have a family of bluebirds in a nest a few doors down from us, so I'm now seeing them pretty frequently perched in our trees. What a sight!

Bluebird against the pink blossoms...do you see what I mean about your word pictures? Glad that Barbara has some energy left to take her dog for a walk with two-week old puppies in the house. At least it's not seven of them.

I think that having lunch with your daughter sounds wonderful. I must make an appointment with mine!
