Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Another day of road work

A misty morning walk but at least it wasn't cold. I saw at least a dozen deer, a few rabbits and heard LOTS of birds and just a couple of people out walking their dogs.

Another day of road work along the road on the side of my house and again I looked out of the window and watched for a while. By the end of the day it looked like it was ready for paving so maybe that will happen tomorrow. It's amazing how they move those big pieces of equipment around and get them to do want they want.
We had a pretty big Kubota tractor when we had our land in Pennsylvania and Ken got quite good with it. I had a try too and it's a lot harder than it looks with all those controls. I had fun trying to dig a few holes here and there. I'll have to dig up a picture of me playing with the tractor. :-)

I sewed together some of the weave-it squares. Sometimes I wait until the end and then try to make some pattern out of them all, but it's a lot of sewing at one time. This time I'm just going to sew them as I go along and just see what kind of a pattern I end up with.

I spent way too much time today giving my blogs a new look. I just couldn't seem to decide on which template I liked the best and kept trying different ones.

We got a call the other day from Lowe's telling us that the fence section and two posts that we ordered were in and that we could come pick them up any time. We went to pick it up after supper. It should have been a quick and easy thing to do. It wasn't. It's getting late now though and I don't feel like writing about it right now so I'll save that story for tomorrow!

Hope all is well in your part of the world and your Thursday was a good one.
Happyone :-)

  1. I know it was a wet walk this morning. Will they be working on the road? Will you be in your cozy loft sewing? Will I see you?

    Hope it's a Happy day!

  2. A cozy loft sounds heavenly on this windy, gray morning. Your new template is pretty. One of my favorite color combinations.

Things - like your visit to Lowe's - that shoul be easy have a way of becoming an ordeal don't they?

    Have a happy day.

  3. When we were kids grandpa taught us to drive by putting us on his 1922 John Deere in the middle of a feild and letting us go for it. Sure was a good way to learn, cars are by far eaisier to drive then a tractor! - I get a lot of google hits on my blog for kubota tractors miss spelled.

  4. Since I grew up on a small farm I learned to drive a tractor by the time I reached my teens. The tractor was on old John Deere, but I still remember it fondly.

  5. Sorry I got my last comment on the wrong post.
I can't believe the hassle you got at Lowe's over the fence. They probably wanted to charge you a fortune to deliver it to you. Will you show us what it looks like when get it up?
