Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Dress shopping

I took this picture of mums on my walk this morning. They are so full and I love the yellow color.
This morning I decided to go to the mall to buy a dress. We are going to a classical concert on Friday and I wanted to get something new. I walked in and out of so many stores and tried on so many dresses but didn't find any that I liked. I tried to find a color but almost everything is black and they either looked like grandmother dresses or for teenagers. Nothing seemed right for me. I am not really a shopper so I get tired of looking and trying on things pretty quick. Maybe I'll go out another day this week to another mall and look. If I can't find anything I'll just have to wear my old stand by of black pants and jacket with pinstripes I have. It's nice, and comfortable too, but I'm just tired of wearing it. It seems when I don't need a dress I can see ones that I like, but I don't buy them. Then when I need a dress I can't find one anywhere. Oh well, if that's the worst problem I have, I should consider myself lucky!! Even though I didn't find a dress it was a beautiful sunny day and I really did enjoy driving my car - windows down, listening to some music - life is good! Did a little work around the house this afternoon and then went and sat out on the porch and did a little knitting. We went out to eat for supper tonight at a place called La Fiesta. A few people I know have told me about the place and how good the food is and we just never got around to going there. I'm glad we went - really liked the place. I had two enchiladas - one spinach and one cheese, with some rice and beans on the side. I'm sure we will be going back there again some time. A little reading, a Netlix and some ice cream rounded out my day. I hope you had an enjoyable Tuesday too.

Dress shopping...bah! Patooie! LOL! Honestly, I know exactly what you ran into. Hope that you will find something the very next time that you go shopping. Wasn't it you who gave the advice to pick it up when you do find it even if there's no particular reason? I think so and that was good advice.

Love those cheery yellow mums!

Well now that concerns me because you are so fit and still had trouble finding a dress. I am 30+ lbs overweight. I will never find anything for my friend's daughters wedding.

Shopping is not my favorite thing. I avoid the ordeal until I have nothing left to wear - then I wonder why. All together, I spent almost 33 years in suits, hose, and heels. I left all that behind and don't miss it.

James got his sunflower seeds in Monday's mail. I called and told him when he was home from shcool. He was so excited - he wanted to plant "fwee"(3) seeds in his clay pot and watch them grow this winter. Mary told me that he went right outside and decided where his next year garden will be. Keith is going to make a place for him to plant them. Also, Mary told me that he spent lots of time at the grocery store's card racks looking for just the right thank you card. Too bad the one he chose was a "Happy Retirement" card - it did have sunflowers. He and I will make a card on friday. You have won a place in his heart. Do you know how important a 4 year old feels when an adult goes to the trouble to save, dry, and send seed. Thank you so very, very much!

Love the Mums, the yellow ones are my favorite, although I do like the fall colors. Dress shopping is not one of my favorite things to do either. I have a rule, when I see a dress I like whenever I am shopping, I will buy it, because I never know when I will need to wear it. I just purchased one from Chadwicks, which I did on-line and it was nicer than I thought it would be. Try to have fun shopping.

Thank you for your reassuring comment. It is a comfort to me to know that your Dad recovered and has had no more problems. The things I have been hearing and reading are so scary.

Thanks,
Kim

If shopping isn't your thing why not see if Bon or Cheryl want to meet up and make it a lunch/shopping date? At least that would make it fun.
