Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Sitting on the arches

Mr Crow sits on the well known arches and waits for people to throw French fries to him.

Took this picture of a young deer while on my walk yesterday.

This morning it was 60 degrees with some fog and a misty rain.  I stayed around town and had a random walk here and there and everywhere.

Can't complain about the weather because the last bunch of mornings have been perfect.  Besides it is nice to walk in the mist too.  It kept me cool and as long as I can be out walking in the morning, I'm happy. : )  I was damp but not wringing out wet.

I saw Peggy out walking again with Saxson and we said a friendly hello and waved and kept on walking.  I didn't see any one else out.

Walking down by the Drane house there are a lot of wild daisies growing at the edge of the road along the fence.
I walked 6.3 miles.
Found a penny.

After church yesterday we took the lawn mower wheel to Walmart and they put a new valve in the rim and put air in the tire and it is as good as new.  They did it while we waited.  Couldn't mow the lawn yesterday though because it started pouring rain with some thunder thrown in as well.  Checked the rain gauge and it showed almost 2 inches.

This morning I read some more of my book.  Trying to finish it before Wednesday evening when my book club meets.  The book is okay but not a page turner.

By lunch time it was drying out but still cloudy.  We went to the farther away Walmart in LaVale to do food shopping and after getting home and putting everything away, I finally got the lawn mowed.  The one neighbor behind me and on one side are both so nice.  Those are the sides of the property where the big pine trees are and it is hard to mow around them.  Both of them go over on our side a bit to mow all around the trees so I don't have to. I'll have to bake them both some cookies.

That's it for today.  Hope all is well with you and remember to count your blessings.

  1. Great shot of the bird, and the deer!

Lovely places to walk, and I am always impressed with how much you walk!!
How long do you walk each day??

Your neighbors are going to love getting cookies from you.
Be sure to share your recipe.

    Happy day to you :)

  2. You do have nice neighbors.. Glad you got your mower fixed and got the lawn mowed.

We are getting tiny bits of rain here (we need rain) --but not nearly as much as you got... We NEED more but don't want anything severe.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. How wonderful that you received two inches of rain! We desperately need some here!

Lucky that you were able to get such a good picture of the deer. It appears to be looking straight at you.

We speak of our blessings daily! There are many!

    Have a good evening!

  4. Good neighbors are such a blessing. I also have two good ones. However, I am slightly annoyed by the one who re-mows my lawn the very next day after I have mowed it. If I haven't mowed it...have at it!

Oh I love fish and chips...yummo!

  6. I'm most amazed by the picture of the crow on the Golden Arches. Perfect shot. The deer is nice too, but it seems deer often pose for you to take their picture! Glad you got the mower fixed.

  8. Your photos are always so beautiful, not many folks around here like crows, but I do enjoy them and we have plenty here at the farm I especially enjoy hearing the them caw to each other, and when they get upset. they really are noisy~smile~.
I would have been so tempted to pick some daisies.
So glad your weather has gotten warmer, we are about to hit our hot, humid weather, such was the case yesterday.
I like the quote very much, so true.
    Blessings,
