Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Monday

Yesterday morning I woke up hearing the rain against the windows which is probably why I over slept and didn't wake up until 7:15.  I didn't bother walking because I wouldn't have had enough time before I had to get ready for church.  I had planned to walk later on in the day but never got around to it.
But I was out there walking this morning. : )  The temperature was in the mid 60's but it was cloudy and humid.  I heard a few rumbles of thunder but the rain held off until later after I was home.
I walked around the lake and then started around it once more and walked about a quarter way around.  Then instead of taking the path here to the left which takes you around the lake, I kept to right.
Which goes up a hill and then down a hill and comes out here by another entrance to the park.  I walked to the right here
which took me to the main road and I made a right back toward home.
Quite a few people out walking for a Monday and considering it looked like rain any second.
I saw the heron and white egret which is becoming a daily thing once again.  The usual rabbits, deer, squirrels and birds were out as well.
It was an uneventful walk but a good one all the same.  I ended up walking a little bit farther than usual and walked 7.8 miles.  If you are wondering how long it took me I walked for 2 hours.

**********************************
Lots of rain yesterday.  The rain gauge on the deck said almost 2 inches.
We are in the FJ here waiting for the rain to let up a bit before making a run for it.
Last night for supper I made pizza dough in the bread machine and then Ken worked his magic and made us a delicious fresh basil and garlic pizza.  Oh he does make a good pizza!!

I finished reading the latest book I'll Walk Alone, by Mary Higgins Clark.

Kidnapping, identity theft and having no one believe you when you're telling the truth, made for a good book that was hard to put down.
Telling the truth and having no one believe me is one of my life nightmares so I thought the book really good.  I can trace this fear of mine back to an incident in my childhood which I just realized reading this book.  I'd tell you about it but I don't think the person involved would like me to mention it here.

I love all the Yoplait flavors they have come out with and I had this Black Forrest Cake flavor today for my lunch. I also picked up Boston Cream Pie and Lemon Pie flavors too for another day.

I've been home today and its been a day of clouds and rain every once in a while.  I've even seen the sun a couple of time.
Just a regular Monday, some work in the morning and now that it's afternoon I'll read, knit and maybe weave a couple of squares.

Enjoy your Monday.
A smile from me to you.

  1. Isn't it odd how those things not resolved in childhood will come around again. Glad that you read the book and thought about this one again so that you can put it to rest. (I have a recurring fear that my sister will fall down a well. Ha! I can trace this to childhood, too.)

Can not imagine walking that far. I should strike out...it'd be a slow strike...head in one direction...no lefts; no rights...and have John come pick me up in two hours. He'd probably find me in a clover patch taking a nap. Then I could measure how far I'd get in two hours.

Hmmm, your homemade pizza sure sounds good!

  2. If you now, can trace back this fear, I hope you can find closure on it....

  6. I don't read books that much anymore, I'm a movie fanatic. There was a similar movie about this woman who had it happen to her, Sandra Bullock was in it, I don't remember the name of the movie. You certainly had more rain than we did, it blew past us. Wow, 7 miles in that humidity-yay you!! Thanks for letting us know how long that takes to walk it (Vee's comment made me giggle).
