Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Happy Friday

❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
It was of course dark when I left on my walk and the roads were wet but no rain coming down and it was 51 degrees.

I walked a route through town, down past the turn off to HT, then back through town, around the ball park loop and the two cemeteries and back home.

The woman with the earphones was once again walking around the ball park loop and I stopped to talk to Lisa up at one of the cemeteries.

About two miles from home a misty rain started so I was a bit damp by the time I was home.
I walked 6.2 miles.

I like the water pic. : )  The first night I did make quite the mess and had water all over the place.  My sleeve was wet, the mirror had water all over it as did the wall.  The second night I did much better.  Kept all the water contained to the sink.  My teeth and gums feel so nice and clean.  I do still floss after using the water pic.  Maybe my next trip to the dentist, my teeth will still be so clean, I may not even need a cleaning!! : )  Wouldn't that be nice.

We left after lunch to do a few errands one of which was to get a pallet of pellets for the pellet stoves.  All set now for cold weather.

This evening is the Ladies Dinner out at Herrington Manor and I'm ready to go with my pumpkin bread.  Should be a fun time.  If I remember, I take a few pictures.

Hope your day has been a happy one.

  1. I really like the red leaves in your first photo. Today was our first morning without rain or drizzle. We had a couple of days of cool weather with a fire in the fireplace in the early morning and late at night, but it's warm again today. I'll bet the pumpkin bread is delicious.

  2. Good to know you are pleased with the water pic. I can imagine there is a bit of a learning curve for everyone the first time.
I am secretly hoping that you remember to take some pictures tonight. However, I wouldn't be a bit surprised or disappointed if you didn't as that would most likely mean you were too busy having fun.
Pumpkin bread sounds good. I hope to make some soon. Incidentally, I have been using your directions for making bread dough in the machine and baking it in the oven with excellent results. So glad you posted that.

Your pictures show wonderful color. We are not that far along here.

My husband tried a water pic for awhile, but he doesn't use it any longer for some reason.

Glad you like your water pic. I laughed at thinking about water going all over the place... I'd do the same thing I'm sure!!!! ha

Your pellet stove sounds great... I have never seen one or even heard of one. George had to explain it to me.... Hope you enjoy it..

  6. Your fall photos are so nice and I enjoy reading about your walks. I am curious about why you usually walk 6.2 miles. That is an excellent distance to give plenty of exercise ... how long does it take? Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. Have a great weekend! I added you to my list of blogs to follow. John
