Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Last day for voting

A garden shed along my walk
❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
A cloudy morning and 64 degrees when I headed out on my walk around the Farm Loop.  Farmer Bill was out in the cornfield and he gave me another ear of corn and we each ate one while we talked.  It was so sweat it was almost like eating candy.

The other day when I met Farmer Marvin I asked if I could walk down his farm road to cut over to the cemetery.  He said sure anytime, so today I did.  Coming down to town just past the school on the farm loop I turned in here.
 Walked toward the barns,
then between them, around to the right and the cemetery is up the hill.
I walked around both cemeteries and the loop behind the ball park and home.
I saw a downy woodpecker and quite a few goldfinches.  Peggy was walking without her dog today.  She was too far away for me to ask where he was.
School starts next week and the teachers are at school this week.  Saw a few of them arriving as I walked passed the school.

I walked 6.2 miles.

Ken got another load of fill up at HT and we got it unloaded before the rain came.

Oh, the little frog in the pond is nowhere to be seen.  I guess he didn't like his new home.

Thursday I have a hair appointment with Sherry for my usual hair dye.  This time I've decided I need a bit of a hairstyle change.  I've looked at lots of hair styles and I've decided on this one.  What do you think?  The color of my hair will still be dark brown, just the cut will be like this.
The pumpkins coming along nicely.  This one is getting pretty big.
We have quite a few yellow pumpkins as well and didn't even realize we had planted any.
I moved a few things around the house today and brought a chair from the guest room up into the living room.  The chair comes apart so I could carry the two parts up the stairs separately.  Still it was an effort to get it up the stairs.  I should have waited for Ken but didn't want to wait.

I've done enough cooking the last few days, so tonight I have the day off and we are going to Brenda's.

That's about it for today.  Hope your day is bright and happy.
happyone : )

This is the last day to vote on the name for our home.  If you haven't already voted please do.  Thanks so much.

I still get wildly enthusiastic about little things...
I play with leaves.
I skip down the street and
run against the wind.

BettyC - thanks for the fish in the pond tip.  Do you have pond with fish?

  2. That little garden shed is adorable. I love the color of the door.
It sounds like you are getting to know a lot of the farmers in your area. They all sound so nice and friendly.
Sorry to hear that your little frog hopped away. Perhaps he will be back after he goes exploring for awhile.
LOVE the hairstyle and I remember that you have nice full hair that would work well cut like that. What does Ken think?
I am jealous of your pumpkins. I have tried them a few different times with very dismal results.
I am going back to read BettyC's fish tip. We are planning to add fish to ours at some point.

  3. Well, that is very nice of the farmer to allow you to cut across his land. Bonus... you took some pretty pictures here, too!

Hard to believe another summer has passed!! Goodness, how time does fly!

    I really like the style that you've chosen for your hair cut. It's cute, looks easy to maintain, and just a bit sassy :}

    Have fun at dinner .

  5. I like the hairstyle you have chosen for your next cut. Very cute! That was sure nice of Farmer Marvin to let you walk down his farm road. I think you must have a town full of really nice folks there. :)

  6. That's too bad about the frog.:( Perhaps he will return. You know, the old "if you build it they will come" philosophy at work.:) How nice to be able to walk down Farmer Marvin's farm road! Love that garden shed! I'm sure you've enjoyed Brenda's.

  7. Perhaps your little frog needed a friend. What fun to take a walk down the farm road...always good to see some new scenery. Two days of cooking is enough? My sentiments exactly.

I like that haircut...hope that we get to see it, too!

  8. We have 3 koi and 3 goldfish. The biggest koi is about 10" long.
I like your haircut idea. Please show us.

  9. I love love love that hairstyle... Can't wait to see your picture.. Although most men like us women to have LONG hair, I just don't like it --especially as we age... You already look like a young one --but I think you'll look AWESOME with that hair cut.... Hope you like it too...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  10. There is nothing like sweet corn! Of course, there is nothing like ripe strawberries, a juicy peach, a true vine ripened tomato, fresh baked bread, etc. etc. :^) Art
