Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

A walking partner : )

Well, I had quite a surprise for Mother's Day.  Saturday evening my son David arrived at the house.  Instead of calling or sending a card he decided to drive over from NJ and be here in person on Mother's Day. : )  As you can imagine it was a wonderful surprise so I had a great Mother's Day!!  He even went to Sunday School and church with us which was also a pleasant surprise. : )  We had lunch at Brenda's.

David came along with me on my walk yesterday.  Once in a while I talk to him on the phone while I walk but it sure was nice having him there walking with me in person.  I got to show him the Farm Loop.  David is in excellent shape.  He runs and works out at the gym almost every day.  He could have run circles around me as I walked!!  He wasn't even breathing hard going up the hills.
Here's my David. : )
We are on Spear Road.  I wanted to show him that neat old tree that's on this road.

David left yesterday afternoon to go back home so today I was back to walking on my own.  It was 56 degrees and cloudy but I did see some sun too.  I walked the Farm Loop and then through town, around one cemetery and the loop behind the ball park and home.

I was walking down from the cemetery straight toward a house which is across the street from the cemetery when I saw something that made me smile.  A young woman was backing out of the garage I assume going to work.  Her husband came running out the front door, ran to the car, put his head inside, gave her a kiss, and as she backed out of the driveway said, " I love you, have a good day."  Watched her pull away and then walked back in side.  It was just nice to see. : )

I walked 6.2 miles.

The clouds went away this morning and the sun came out so I hung some wash out on the line.  About 10 minutes later back came the clouds and it started raining.  So back outside I went to take the clothes in and then hang them in the basement.  No sooner had I gotten them hung up down there, the rain stopped and the sun came back out.  I thought about hanging them back outside but just left them hanging in the basement.

I'm spring cleaning my computer. I've been looking through all my passwords and user names that I've accumulated over the years for the many different websites and trying to get them organized. Some are on file cards, some on bits of paper and others just dotted down on the edge of the calendar on my desk. I'm going to all the websites to see if the passwords still work or if I even want to go there again.  I'm writing down all the information in a note book that have the websites in alphabetical order and then throwing away the cards and bits of paper.  I'm not done yet but have gotten quite a bit of it done.  Oh, and I'm also deleting quite a few bookmarks off my computer.

Other than that its just the usual day at home around the house.

Hope all you mothers out there had a very Happy Mother's Day.
A happy day to you.

  5. What a great Mother's Day surprise! You must have been on Cloud 9!

Now what you're doing with the computer stuff is something I'm going to pretend that I don't need to do.

I would have enjoyed seeing the scene between the young husband and wife. If only all marrieds behaved in similar ways!

It sounds like you've gotten a lot done, I keep my passwords safe in a small notebook. The problem is I've misplaced that notebook!
Have a nice day and thanks for sharing!
