We would take her out hot chocolate, coffee, sandwiches. One night in particular we brought her into the restaurant because weather forecasts were warning of the dangers of the extreme cold that we were experiencing. The next night I went out to talk to her about some resources that I was aware of that could provide her shelter and food. She promptly told me to mind my f--king business, to leave her alone, that her situation was only temporary. We never saw her in our parking lot again. I often wonder if she is okay and survived the cold winter that we had last year. If I had it to do all over again, I would offer her help again.Joni Dixon-Stangerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10903140840552256407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-41488367266689647082008-09-25T20:10:00.000-04:002008-09-25T20:10:00.000-04:00Okay then, Blogger wasn't allowing comments just a...Okay then, Blogger wasn't allowing comments just a minute ago. LOL!

Your story about the old woman reminded me of an old woman who lived in my former neighborhood. One day there was an ice storm and she was out walking on the sidewalk and had slipped and fallen at least twice that I had seen. I walked the length of my veranda to offer her help and a place to stay until someone could come get her. She told me to leave her alone, too, and she knew me albeit only a little. Guess old ladies know what they want. Anyway, off she went slipping and sliding all the way. I've often thought that that experience was a lesson to remember in my future...not to be so independent when I need help.Veehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00618654361869856894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-62265248291762086452008-09-25T20:05:00.000-04:002008-09-25T20:05:00.000-04:00this is a testthis is a testVeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00618654361869856894noreply@blogger.com
