Being a military brat, my brother, my sister and parents moved across the country, back and forth, every 2-4 years. I am the oldest of three. We always lived in military housing furnished with furniture by the military. We attended schools on base, except when we lived in Alaska, they base was small (300 families), that we were bussed to the local community off base for our education. Looks like your journey met your need to revisit, although somewhat disappointing it appears. At least you return home with the knowledge of what has changed, some for the better, some not so much.Noofyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05006035965295127899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-29142498456228388142011-07-09T10:46:32.149-04:002011-07-09T10:46:32.149-04:00I think going back home is always bitter-sweet. I don't know if or when I'll go back again.Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06923630536753873113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-14637806368894411532011-07-08T21:48:01.929-04:002011-07-08T21:48:01.929-04:00OH my, I have done something similar at times. Things looked smaller than I remembered them, and run down and it was fun but I preferred my memories.Retired Knitterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13662288640032813770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-89138166638927838372011-07-08T20:59:03.914-04:002011-07-08T20:59:03.914-04:00I love your roadtrips! So, I'm glad to see pictures of it all. I do know what you mean about places changing and looking kind of depressing. I had that same thought the last time we drove around the area I grew up in Michigan. Not the way I remembered it at all. <br />Hope you enjoy your ice cream.Happy@Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15748146424809856063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-18794300930278438162011-07-08T17:56:34.453-04:002011-07-08T17:56:34.453-04:00Things are always changing.
