How sad--whichever is true...

I had a white kitty named Snowball for many years... After going to college, Snowball died... You're right, it did pour, most of day in fact. Again, I thought of you out there in the rain. Can you believe this crazy weather? I can't wait until it settles down. Your Cookie was so cute! I suppose we all had our childhood dogs, our family dog was Mister. Mister was a stray, there was no giving him back not that we would anyway. Mister did tricks and listened to the family's commands. I think Mister was thankful for a home. Mister talked too, he stood by the back door and scratched lightly when he needed to go pottie. We gave Mister away to a family who had a farm when my father received orders to transfer (we were a military family).Noofyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05006035965295127899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-43440198911397710252011-04-05T18:08:50.392-04:002011-04-05T18:08:50.392-04:00Cookie is a cutie pie. We never expected the kids to do anything with regards to the pets, because they belonged to us. Now as adults, both my kids have dogs (animals that need far more of the owner's time than cats), and both kids are excellent pet owners. The kids learn from our example. If we take good care of our pets, they will take care of their pets. Expecting kids to care for animals is unfair to the animals and the kids. And in the end, the animals wind up finding another home. Sad, but true.

Anyway, your posting hit a nerve for me. Animals aren't disposable - and in our family they are family. Cookie's story was sad, but probably went to another home - better for Cookie.Retired Knitterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13662288640032813770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583216711420632803.post-30039425937644605392011-04-05T15:56:14.367-04:002011-04-05T15:56:14.367-04:00Rain continues up here too. Being consistent is a big plus, for me.

Awwwww, the sad tale of 'Cookie.' I never had my own dog, when growing up. But I adopted quite a few cats. And they all came to sad ends, which were not of my doing. I loved that dog, yet I don't remember his name. He was very fond of me and not so fond of my little sister. I came home one day and he was gone. I was told that he ran away. I didn't find out what really happened until I was all grown up. So I'm sending you a gentle hug for the loss of Cookie...

What a crazy difference in the weather. Though I'm sure that you don't mind having the temps rise a bit more slowly.Veehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00618654361869856894noreply@blogger.com
