Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Barn Collective

Linking up with Tom for the Barn Collective.
This barn is on the way from my house to the new one.

🚜     🚜
Cold, dark and icy, so decided to wait until later in the day for a walk.
It was clear first thing in the morning but then it clouded up and
started snowing.
When it was light I bundled up for my walk including wearing my snow
sneakers and ice grippers.  Very icy and I slipped some even with the ice
grippers so I turned around and went back in the house.
Did some loops in the house.
Later in the afternoon the sun came out and I went out and tried to get
some more ice off the driveway.
By this time I could have went for a walk but just never did.
I was going to walk to the library and the post office but then realized
it was a holiday and they would be closed.

Inside the house the latest puzzle is finished.
I think it is number 4 for the season.
We all liked working this one.  Not easy but not that hard either.
Ken was up at the building site helping out.  The rest of the doors are being
installed today and I think the garage doors are supposed to be
delivered this week.

Count your blessings and have a happy day.

Lovely barn shots.
It must have been very icy for you to slip even with ice grippers on.

That is a lovely puzzle, such a beautiful scene.

All the best Jan

...I was out today and saw similar sights. For me the snow is inviting, thanks Karen for stopping by. Stay warm and stop back again.

Great barn shots. Good idea to keep your walk close to home without ice.

Glad you went back inside. Nothing like a bad fall to ruin everything!

Puzzles. I have been doing puzzles on line and they don’t rotate. Ok, today I will turn on rotate. I’ll get used to that and then go to my/your puzzle.
Your house will be beautiful.
Thanks

Very pretty scene on your latest puzzle. I am often tempted to pick one up when I see them at the thrift shops. I haven't done a puzzle in years. Perhaps it's time.

I am almost ashamed of myself for not walking yesterday,(using the cold weather as an excuse) after reading of your determination! I will however walk today, don't know about tomorrow they are calling for snow. ~smile~
I enjoy doing puzzles, and keep telling myself I will get back soon. I once saw a puzzle hanging in a pizza restaurant that had been glued to a board, it was very nice. I even thought of doing this with one that my grandson and I had done many years ago, but didn't, I now wish I had.
Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comment.
I know you are getting so excited about moving into your new home.
Blessings,
Sue

Ice is no fun! I've no snow sneakers or special grippers, so I stay off the ice! That's a lovely barn picture! Yay for completing that puzzle! I need to start one!

Do you use walking sticks when walking? They sure help, even in the snow!

Now that looks like a good puzzle to do.

We got snow here in E Tennessee as well. Love it! Don't blame you for forgoing your walk with slippery conditions. Puzzle is very pretty. I occasionally do some online but haven't tackled any in "real life." It was 9 degrees here this morning with a "feel like" of -4! Have a good day.

Wise choice not to walk when the grips aren’t helping. I love that puzzle! Longboats are so cool not that I know much about them beyond the series Great Canal Journeys with Prunella Scales and Timothy West. I watch the episodes on You Tube via Apple TV. Somehow I think you and Ken know all about this. 😉

It's so good that work is proceeding on your new home even in this very "weathery" January. I know you are eager to get it "buttoned up," and get the stove and everything inside. The puzzle is pretty!

Hi Happyone! I always enjoy stopping by Life is Good. You and Ruth Hiebert, Ruth’s Photo Blog, are the best at creative headers. Your new header is just great! And another blogger I follow, Red, from Hiawatha House, said, “Going for a walk is a good way to come home with a few photos.” When I read that I immediately thought of you. The pics you take on your walk are some of the best I’ve found in the blogosphere. Thanks for sharing your blog and for your kind comments on mine. I hope you and Ken are having a fine start to 2018. John

I'm hoping you are both okay and just busy at the moment.

Better not to fall on the ice and skip the walk for a day.

No, I don't use walking sticks.
