Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Burning brush

🌼     🌼
Walked 6.3 miles on this foggy Saturday morning.
47 degrees.

Started my walk on the roads behind my house, through town and down towards
HT, back through town, around the ball park and one of the cemeteries.

Stopped to talk to a women getting her yard sale set up.
Rebeca was out walking her dog.
Saw a few rabbits about.
Not long after I got home the sun broke through the clouds.
 🌼     🌼
A little after breakfast we headed up to the building site.
Pictures of the footing finished yesterday.
Standing in the back corner looking left.
 Looking right
Couple of workers where there loading the tree trunks on to a truck
and hauling then away.  They were there for most of the day and took away
three truck loads.
All this brush will be burned and there is another pile of stumps
on the other side of all the brush.
Ken and I made a small brush pile fire and fed that most of the day.
Took a break for lunch and cooked our hot dogs over the fire.
Home again late afternoon, got cleaned up and went out for supper.
You can probably guess where we went - Brenda's for pizza. 🍕

Nice to be home now to enjoy the evening.

A happy day to you.

Your wooded lot where you are building is like a little piece of paradise. I'm so happy for you!! The fog looks cool, but nothing like the beauty of sunshine shiny through!!
hugs,

This is one sentence from a sermon I read this morning. I think it represents why I enjoy your blog

...Journaling everyday – not just when you think you need to – can help you realize when the mundane details of life actually held the glory of God. I promise you they do.

Nothing tastier than a hotdog roasted over an open fire.

I don't know how I missed this...oh, never mind. I did not get to visit all blogs last night. I love cleaning up brush and burning it. Love the smell of wood smoke and that is just a job I like.

The home building is really exciting. Your dreams of living up in the mountains are coming true, Happy-K. I hope that you have years of happiness there.

Sounds like a perfect, productive autumn day! 47 degrees - wow! That must feel so good. We dipped into the 70s for highs for a few days, but it will warm again. I love a brush pile and roasted hotdogs in the fall. The building site is looking amazing! They are so fast.
