Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

This and That

🌾     🌾
It was a cloudy walk this morning and the temperature was 55 degrees
with a bit of wind.
Took one of my random walks all over the place.
This is behind the ball park loop.  It used to be just a narrow path
and now it is road width.
Met up with Kathy around one of the cemeteries and we walked a mile or
so together.  By they time she left I still had more than 2 miles to walk.

No one else out walking or running.
We did see quite a few rabbits as always
and a skunk got hit by a car and left a pretty strong odor!!!

Walked 6.2 miles
🚶     🚶
Yesterday when we were at the new house site I walked across the road
and met a few new neighbors.  I'll be seeing quite a lot of them in the
near future.

I got a sympathy card in the mail yesterday with a letter and a picture
from Patty, my next door neighbor from when I was a kid.
We have kept in touch all these years.  Her mom died in the beginning
of the year and mine as most of you know died a couple of weeks ago.
Our moms were friends for many years too.  Patty came across some
pictures of our moms together and she sent me this one.
They used to swim laps together.
The picture is from the mid 70's.
My mom is on the left.
Ken went up the Happy Trails again to move yet more rocks before
the excavator comes.

It is my turn to bake cookies for the kids at Sunday school for this
Sunday so I stayed home and baked Chocolate Chip cookies.
I usually bake them in two batches but today I doubled it and got them
all baked at once.  I baked 112 cookies.
I always put the cookies in a big tin for them and I was told the
kids are very happy to see that tin!
And that makes ME smile. 😊

Ken came home for lunch and we had the left over pizza from last
night for lunch.   Then back to HT he went for the rest of the day.

I had planned on going outside to do some work in the gardens but
never made it outside.
I sat down to read for a little while and ended up doing that just
about all afternoon.

A happy day to you.

So nice to get that photo of your mom...and nice to still be in touch with your friend. I love the neighbors you are going to have...at least they won't be a rowdy bunch. Love your pics today.

Sorry, somehow I missed it. I knew your Mom was not well. It is so difficult to lose a parent. We are never prepared. You know your Mom is well taken care of now. Sending love and prayers

I don't know or remember if I extended any sympathy to you on the earthly loss of your mom. Sorry for your loss. That's a great photo! Glad those kids get excited when they see your tin filled with cookies.
