Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Standing Tall

🌽     🌽
A nice sunny morning after two days of rain and pretty heavy rain at times.
This morning it was 62 degrees, sunny and some clouds and a nice breeze.

Walked the streets behind my house, over to the post office to mail off
a card, and through town.
A couple loops around the ball park loop and both cemeteries, a loop around town
again and then back home.

Kathy was out walking again but we just passed by today with a
cheery 'Good Morning.'

Walked 6.2 miles
🚶     🚶
The sun flowers in front of the dining room windows were all falling down
on top of the cone flowers and I mentioned that to Ken before leaving on my walk.
Ken surprised me by standing them back up and putting rope and wire around them
and they were all standing nice and tall when I got back home from my walk.
He also picked a few flowers and put them in a milk bottle and put
them on the table for me.
I had a big smile on my face walking up the driveway and it got even
bigger when I walked in the door.
Isn't he a sweetheart!!!
Wanted to mow the lawn but it is just too wet out in the yard after
all the rain over the weekend.  That will have to wait for another day.
Decided to do a bit of weeding out in the front garden.
All the rain made weeding easier and I weeded this morning for over
two hours.

After lunch I got some ironing done.
Always watch an I Love Lucy episode when I iron.
The one I watched today was when Lucy and Ethel go to Sun Valley.
It was one of the hour long episodes they had on the last
couple of seasons of the series.

We went to Brenda's for supper and got a pizza and salads.

It's been a beautiful sunny day in the 70's.
A perfect summer day.
Though we did have a little rain shower late afternoon
but that was good for the gardens.

Life is Good
A happy day to you.

Karen, that picture of the fence and barn scene should be made into a greeting card. Absolutely gorgeous! Yes, Ken is a sweetheart to do such thoughtful things for you. :) Glad you had a good day today.

Aw, that is so sweet. I can see why you smiled. Sometimes it's the little things that bring the biggest smiles.
On a side note, thank you for letting me know that you couldn't see my video. I can see it just fine so I don't know how to correct it so that others can. So sorry.

How very sweet of Ken to surprise with a beautiful bouquet!
We are planning on a pizza work party tonight!
My kids & I were just discussing that verse from Proverbs yesterday & the importance of watching what we say!

Pretty bouquet! I always loved I Love Lucy reruns. I usually watch "Poirot" when I'm crocheting. Have a great day.

You had me at I Love Lucy...lol! I watch the older ones on Hallmark Channel on Saturday mornings. I never grow tired of them. I have only seen the hour-long episodes that you are referring to a couple of times. It kinda broke my heart when they split up shortly after filming them. They were certainly a far cry from the comedy of today...which I DON'T watch.

Your corn shot just reminded me... I wanted to grow some corn this year. Maybe next year I will give it a try. This year it is sunflowers I am waiting on. :)
