Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walk and work

🐄     🐄
When I started walking this morning it was 60 degrees and cloudy
but after a few miles the sun came out.

I walked the Farm Loop.
The cows were out along the fence and stopped eating to watch me walk by.
I stopped and said good morning.
Heading down the road back to town I saw our friend Dave from church
in his driveway washing his truck and stopped to have a little chat.
Continued on to one of the cemeteries and walked around there,  made a quick loop
around town and back home again.
A couple of pretty blooms along my walk.

This picture is of some kind of pine tree.  I guess that is all new growth on the ends but there was so much of it that there was hardly any green on the tree.
Anyway I thought it made an interesting picture.
  Walked 6.2 miles

After breakfast I got a load of wash hung out on the line and then Ken and I
went out to Lowe's.  We bought some flowers and a few other things.

Then we headed over to church to do some more cleanup behind the back
building that people have been using to dump old wood and building material.
We loaded up our dump trailer with old wood and took it up to Happy Trails
and burned it in the burn barrel.  This was the second time we did this and
probably have one more load to do.
We will then put up a sign that reads,
Yard Waste ONLY.
Hopefully that will work.

The day sure flew by
but I'm glad it is evening now and time to relax.

A happy day to you.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy ice cream.
And that's kind of the same thing.

I like the photo of the boulder with the lichens, also all of the lovely flowers.

Great pictures. Irises are one of my favourite flowers and this one is very lovely.

First shot very interesting...I have an iris like the one you photographed...and wish I had the other bloom.

I think it's funny how cows just look at people. Are we that interesting?

Hi Karen, lovely photos! I like that you say good morning to the cows.
Love your quote at the end. At my Dad's funeral my brother giving the eulogy mentioned how my Dad loved to take us all for ice cream at a local dairy when we were feeling down. Ice cream does make you feel happy!
Take care.

Hello, pretty flowers. I must go to Lowes to buy some soon. It is a shame people dump their trash on the church property. Love the quote and ice cream! Happy Sunday, enjoy your day and new week ahead!
