Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rhubarb

💐     💐
This morning when I walked it was a bit windy, cloudy and 42 degrees.

Took my usual walk around town and the cemeteries and the ball park loop.
The azaleas are now blooming around town.  Took this at one of the cemeteries.
Don't have any in my yard but I'd like to get some.
Another bunny stopped today to have his picture taken.
The church in town is still getting its new roof on but it is just about done.
Seems to be some kind of work being done at the Fire House because
I saw quite a few workers get out of pickup trucks and go inside.

No one else out walking or running.
Walked 6 miles
💐     💐
Ken headed up to Happy Trails again this morning and I stayed home again.
This time I needed to get the lawn mowed and did it in the morning
because it looked like rain.
I had my sweatshirt on with the hood and I was a bit chilly riding
around on the mower.

Cut the first pieces of rhubarb out of my garden today.
I'm giving it to a friend.  I'll keep the next bunch for myself
and make some rhubarb cobbler with it.

A happy day to you.

I wondered why somebody didn't do something.
Then I realized, I am somebody.

Cute bunny! He looks a bit speckled.

Nice of you to give a friend that rhubarb. I'm sure it will be warmly accepted .

How sweet of you to give your first rhubarb away . . . that first photo with the old fence and the wild flowers is stunning. I miss all the wild flowers, here in the desert if you pick a wild flower you are also picking a home to hundreds of tiny creatures. Any place with vegetation make a great home for insects. That's just the desert way :)

Nice of you to give away your first harvest. The decision of a truly thoughtful person.

I love rhubarb. I want some. I am going to look for it next time I go to the grocery.
It was chilly here today!
You are a good lawn mower!

Pretty signs of spring on your walk today.
Your friend is very lucky to receive that fresh from the garden rhubarb. My mouth is watering just looking at it and it's wonderful possibilities :).

Azaleas and rhubarb...how nice. I mowed half of our lawn this evening. Too bushed to do the rest. Sweet dreams!

Rhubarb is a pretty plant...I don't know why I never ate rhubarb pie. I must have been crazy.

The azaleas certainly put on a show.

Azaleas are so pretty. My mother had the prettiest orange one...and a yellow one. The beds in front of the house were filled with them.

Your rhubarb cobble sounds really yummy. I have a recipe for strawberry rhubarb cobbler that my daughter-in-law gave me. It is really good, too.

Have a great day!

Take care.

I've seen several posts that mention rhubarb. I would love to see how it looks growing and would like to taste a rhubarb pie too.

Beautiful azaleas! The rhubarb looks like strawberry rhubarb pie to me! But the cobbler would be good too. Have a blessed day.

Always such great fotos...beautiful azaleas!

Your azaleas are ahead of ours, but not too far. I hope that this next batch of rain will slow them down because otherwise it's just going to knock them off. I'll not be happy over that. Rhubarb looks delicious and like a rhubarb custard pie to me. When my rhubarb is ready to harvest, that's what I hope to make.

That's some nice looking rhubarb! I might plant some next year. My husband doesn't like it but I have a yummy recipe for a rhubarb-strawberry dessert that I make every year.

Beautiful rhubarb! We love it. A rhubarb coffeecake or a strawberry-rhubarb pie, or maybe a rhubarb custard one, sounds good to me.
