Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Work Day

🌻     🌻
A warm 62 degrees this morning when I started out walking.
Sunny and the slight breeze felt nice.

Walked the streets behind my house, through town and up
Barn Sale a ways.  Then down towards Happy Trails, back to town and
around both cemeteries, the ball park loop and back home again.
I've been seeing quite a few rabbits lately and today one stood still long
enough for me to take his picture.
Not much activity around town this morning and didn't see anyone else
out walking or running.

Walked 6.2 miles
Coins found for the month of April
1 quarter, 1 dime, 1 nickel, and 6 pennies for a grand total of
46 cents.
🌻     🌻
After breakfast we headed over to church.  Behind the church at the edge
of the property there is an embankment down to the woods and a whole
bunch of wood and other stuff have been dumped there.
Ken and I volunteered to clean it up.
We got about half of it picked up and put in our new trailer and took
it up to Happy Trails where we burned about half of the trailer load.
Will finish burning another day and then we still have to get the other
half of the load and then burn that.

The outside of the cabin is just about done.  Just have to put a few pieces
of trim around the back windows and put up some gutters in the back.
Painting and fixing the roof where a piece blew off has to be put
on hold for a while.  Have to wait for the four Robin eggs to hatch the birds leave the nest before we can finish.
We had a few rain showers during the day but the sun was out quite a bit too.

Back home around 4:00, got cleaned up and then went to Brenda's
for supper. While we were at Brenda's a storm blew past with rain coming
down in sheets.  Couldn't see much of the lake.
The sun came back out later on again.

Nice to be home now for the evening.
A happy day to you.

FG - Yes, that is a Red Bud tree in Saturday's post.  The only one I've seen in town.

Dianna -  Yes, I was out there Saturday with my 'new' garden tools.  The weed pullers didn't work very well, faster doing it by hand.  The aerator rake thing worked great though for loosening up the dirt.

The two of you stay so busy . . . no moss growing under your feet, LOL. It's very nice that you are waiting for the robin's eggs to hatch and leave the nest. You're a sweetheart :)
Have a joyful week.

...is that Onduline roofing that you are using?

You are busy people. The Robins seem to find every little nook in which to build their nests.

That seems to be a good size bunny. He/she must be finding a good garden to munch on. Wondering if you plan to move to the cabin when it's finished? Thanks for stopping by Rivercrest Cottage blog. Glad to know I'm not the only one who fell for mauves and blues way back when.

We had quite the storm over this way around 5:00 this evening...but then by 6:30 or so the sun came out! :)

Sorry that the "new" garden tools didn't work as well as you hoped. Glad the aerator worked well though. :)

Enjoy your week!

I love that spider web....our robin has babies, but not sure how many. I stand on the chair but still cannot see in good enough to count.

Great spiders web!
What will your next project be when the cabin is finished? Lovely to see a robin has made your cabin home too!
Have a wonderful month of May if I don't get to drop by quite so often :)

Hi Karen, wonderful photo of the spider's web! I've been noticing bunnies on our early morning walks too. We had a number of storms blow through yesterday, a particularly heavy one after supper. Everything is so lush and green.
Have a good day.

That is a big bunny. I don't seem to see many of them around here, so I enjoyed a peek at yours.
It warms my heart to know that you are putting your work on hold until the robin's eggs hatch.

I had a huge bunny visit my yard occasionally in Florida. I'm excited for you to hear that the exterior of Happy Trails is just about done. Those baby robins are holding things up but it's so wonderful that you holding off until they are hatched and gone. Yes, I hear we may meet up in June. What fun that will be!

You had a nice day to work outside. It's very nice of you and your hubby to volunteer to clean up the debris. Nice job!!

Trash dumping is a problem here, too, although it's mainly plastics rather than wood. Thankfully, as of this year, there's a free collection station in town so hopefully people are going to use it! Fingers crossed. :) The photo of the spider's web is great!
