Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Friday

The morning moon
🎈     🎈     🎈
46 degrees this morning at 6:30 when I left on my walk
with a mix of sun and clouds.

No school today so no buses.
I see a woman walk past my house very slowly with a cane every few days.
This morning she was out walking while I was.
She asked me if I had a cigarette she could buy from me!
Her walk is to Hartman's gas station so she can buy a pack of cigarettes.
That is just so sad to me.

Lisa was out running but no Gail today.
I just realized that she may be someone I see at Brenda's
and didn't recognize because she was in walking clothes and wearing
at hat with her hair up.
Next time I see her I'll find out if it is indeed her.

Walked around behind my house, through town, up Barn Sale,
down toward HT and then back to town.
Around the cemeteries and back home.

A few pictures along the way.

Walked 6.2 miles

I haven't driven my car for the last couple of months because of the weather
and the battery went dead.  Yesterday Ken put the battery charger on it
so now it is fully charged.
I don't really drive all the much since we moved up here
because Ken and I usually go out together and he does the driving,
but I've missed driving my car.
Today I washed it and got it sparkling clean and then took it for a spin.
Last month my car turned 15 years old.  I can't believe I've had it that long.
I still look at it when I walk away from it in a parking lot and can't believe
it is my car.
Went up to the library in Grantsville and checkout out a book and a magazine.
🚗     🚗     🚗
After lunch I went outside and did some work out in the garden.

Doing the dishes I watched these two birds eat their dinner.
Knitted a couple more dish/wash clothes.
A smile from me to you.  😊

Pretty colors for your dishcloths. I felt sad about the lady with the cane walking to get cigarettes, I hope she has friends. "Resurrection joy" is music to my ears.

I love those dishcloths! They look like the ones you sent me. I still have them and they always remind me of a very special friend. :-) It is very sad about the woman whose is so addicted to cigarettes. I hope that you and Ken have a wonderful, Happy Easter!

I'm giggling a little thinking "at least the need for a ciggy got her out walking in the fresh air!"

I love the colors on your dish cloths. They remind me of Easter eggs.
That is a shame to think of the lady wanting a cigarette that badly. I know it can be a strong addiction for some.
I'll bet you really enjoyed that ride in your nice clean car. Hard to believe she is that old.
Happy Easter to you and Ken.

Hi Karen, love your morning moon shot. You sure are warmer in the early mornings then we are. The past few days we have been right at 32 degrees.
Love the shot of the purple finches.
Enjoy the weekend!
