Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Some more snow

🍀     🍀     🍀
Well, it was quite a walk this morning.  It was 20 degrees and snowing.
Back to wearing my snow sneakers and ice grippers.
Walked no special route just all over town.
Just me and the school buses out and the snow plows, and I tried to stay
out of their way.
Joe, one of the town workers who plows the side streets stopped to say hi
and he asked me if I ever get tired of walking.  Just smiled and said no.

Started out walking in light snow and then it got darker and the snow
came down heavy and the wind blew.
Yes, those are my footprints
It snowed hard for a few miles and then it stopped and I saw some blue sky
and the sun was out for a couple of minutes.
By the time I walked home the sun and blue skies were gone and it
was snowing again.
Walked 6.7 miles

Many of you commented on the Angel Food cake I made yesterday.
I really can't take any credit because it was just a Betty Crocker cake mix.
I just dumped the mix in a bowl, added 1 1/4 cups of water, mixed it
and baked it.  Very easy.  Nice thing about Angel Food cakes is yes,
they taste good but only 150 calories per piece.  (Cake cut into 12 pieces.)
By the way, it was very good with a scope chocolate ice cream.
🍀     🍀     🍀
Finished another puzzle.  This one was a bit hard but fun to do
and I think a pretty one
Haven't started the next one yet but have picked it out.
The next one is three wolfs howling at a full moon in the snow.
750 pieces, pretty but not a lot of color.
Might be a hard one.

All day long the weather went from snow storm to sun and back
to snow storm again.

Read some more of my book and didn't do much of anything
except for the every day chores that need to be done.
A good day and thankful for it.
Life is Good

A happy day to you.

A couple more money facts.
  • The old money gets shredded.  Every month the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia sends 16 tons of old cut up cash to an energy-from-waste plant in Chester, Pennsylvania, to be burned; the resulting steam produces electricity to power homes throughout the Delaware Valley.
  • It takes about 4,000 double folds (first forward and then backward) before a bill will tear.  It takes far fewer folds for a snooty vending machine to reject your bill - but you can fix that by popping your bill in the microwave for about 20 seconds to crisp it up.

Hi Karen, great photos again today. We had very similar weather to you today although our snow didn't amount to much and melted by mid afternoon. We had to wear boots again for our walk this morning though. Haven't worn them in weeks!
Enjoy your evening!

Looking at the pictures from your walk today makes it hard to believe that you just live over in the next county. You got quite a bit of accumulation. We had the same here as far as the snow starting and stopping and many times it was almost like blizzard conditions, but at the end of the day there wasn't any accumulation. Guess it is because you are at a higher elevation than us.

Thanks for sharing about the angel food cake. You have inspired me to give it a try again. :)

Your puzzle is so pretty. I would imagine with all of that white in the one of the wolves that you will be doing next it will be a bit hard. But you and Ken can do it! Speaking of which...I don't know how often you go on Jigidi but I have worked many of your puzzles and left you a few comments. Your pictures make beautiful beautiful puzzles.

Have a great weekend!

It was very cold here today, but no falling snow. We've already got plenty.

Your photo looks soooo cold, yet you walked one of your longer distances. You must have been enjoying the crisp air.

Hello, wow that looks like a lot of snow. You are a dedicated walker. I like the blue skies and clouds. Your lighthouse puzzle is pretty. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

What a lot of snow in a few miles and it means you burned more calories trudging through it so you can eat the cake and ice cream guilt free!

That does look like a frosty walk you had.
More fascinating facts about our money, especially what happens to the old bills.

You came to mind yesterday when I was in a restaurant with my sister in law and found a nickel...I thought about the money you find on your walks. ;-) You are such a dedicated walker, even when it's not fit out for man or beast!!! LOL HOPE you have a great weekend.

Karen, I have to tell you that I had to put a sweater on to read your post today! Beautiful pictures though. I think snowy scenes are just beautiful. The lighthouse puzzle is so pretty. My favorite puzzles on Jigidi are the ones that look like patchwork quilts. Angel food cake was my birthday cake every year growing up. Have a safe, warm and lovely weekend.

That snow looks beautiful to me, but then so does that deep blue sky. Fun facts about the bills. I'm going to try the microwave trick.
