Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Housework delayed again

Another clear morning for walking and it was 40 degrees.  Still some wind around
but not as bad as yesterday.

One other thing I like about my new walking shoes is that they have
normal shoe lace lengths.  Most all my shoes have super long laces that
I end up cutting off the ends of them.

Walked a modified version of the Town Route.
I just can't keep to one route.

Lisa was out running again
and the shingling is still going on at the church in town.
The original part of church has a slate roof and I wonder if they will
be doing some work on that too.

I just realized that we will be having the dreaded time change
this weekend.  It seems way too early for that.
Just when my morning walk is in daylight, I'll go
back to starting out in the dark on Sunday.

Walked 6.4 miles
🚶     🚶     🚶
Once again I put off housework and went up to HT with Ken
after first making a stop at Lowe's.

When Ken left yesterday this is what the road he is working on looked like.
It is still a work in progress.
Today he worked in the wood shop on his church project,
making stapling stations for the staplers when we put together
the scriptures at church.
Too hard to explain so will just take a picture when he's done.

I worked on getting stones for the wall of which many are needed.
I put them in the loader of the tractor and then Ken can just drive
it to where he needs the stones.

Nice to see a bit of yellow popping up through the leaves at HT.
We went to Brenda's for supper tonight, it is my favorite place to eat out.
The reason is that not only is the food good,
but the place is clean and all the servers are happy people.
They all seem to really like working there.
The view is good too looking out over the lake.

The weather is supposed to change back again to cold tomorrow
so maybe then I can get some housework done then.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Nothing wrong with putting aside the housework! Get out and about while you can!

We are going to have to take a drive and find Brenda's one of these days. :)

Hello Friend! - I just pulled the blue afghan you made on to my lap and thought of you. I wanted you to know that even after years of use, many a kitty-cat-nap and countless dog snuggles it still looks as great as the day I opened it's package. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift! Hope you & yours are well. Hugs, Brad

The housework will not run away and can just as easily be done on a rainy or cold day, but enjoying the outdoors is best done in good weather. Even the Dandelions are a welcome sight in spring.

Housework can wait when you can get out and about and enjoy good weather and good walks.
I don't think we alter our clocks until the weekend of the 25th/26th March.

Happy Wishes for Friday and the coming weekend

All the best Jan

I see the grass growing and bees coming out now, so spring will be here soon

I smiled at your title as I can relate to that. We had a beautiful day yesterday and I faced the decision to stay home and clean or go out and enjoy the wonderful weather... Guess which one I chose? :)
I like the idea of shorter shoelaces. It seems like most of mine are too long, now that you mention it.
Have a nice weekend, Karen.

Just catching up on your blogs. Sounds like things are going along smoothly. I, too, enjoyed the springtime weather in Feb. Am going to e-mail now and catch you up on what's going on here. MJ

I would be like you Karen and leave the housework until a cold day!
Great photo of the Canada Geese.
Is that coltsfoot blooming in the last photo? It is one of the first things up here too.
It is cold here today. We just arrived home from our walk. I plan to do some baking today, warm up the house!
Have a good day!
