Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Town Route

35 degrees this morning and cloudy with just the slightest bit of a wind.
A few times during my walk some mini frozen snow balls fell from the sky.

When I walk around town I usually don't have a route but just walk all
over the place.  Today I mapped out a route and will call it The Town Route.
Started out walking up the streets behind my house.
Through the main road in town and back again.
Two times around the ball park loop, then past the post office and around
the Flat St loop.  Up the hill to cemetery number 1.
I walked around it twice one way,
Then down by the Drane house which is where the barn is where the
horses live.  They were in the muddy barn yard today when I
went over to say hi to them.
They saw me coming and today two of them walked over by the fence.
I gave them both a pet and they both licked my hand.
One of those moments during the day that make you stop and smile.
Then I walked back to the cemetery and walked around it twice the other way.
My walk continued over to cemetery number 2 and around there two times.
Walked back to Flat St and over to the road where the library is.  Always
walk around the library parking lot because sometimes I find coins there,
but no coins today.
From there I walked home.
The Town Route is 6.4 miles.

Ken is one of the men who does a few handy man type jobs around church
and we went there today and he replaced a toilet seat in the ladies room.

Stopped a few other places while we were out too and had lunch at Arby's.
We both had the baked potato with broccoli and cheese.

Worked a bit more on the puzzle when we got home.
It is going together pretty quickly and we should be done before too long.

Well that's it for today.
It's Wednesday and off to church we go.
A happy day to you.

That was a good walk. Those horses look like they appreciate your speaking to them.

Another nice day for your walk and a good route too when you can stop for a moment and chat with the horses! That was sweet!

I would say that your horse visit was the highlight of your walk today! When I go to Arbys, I have to get their reuben sandwich. So good which is why I don't go too often. Have a great day.

It's always fun to hear about your morning walks...such a pretty area to walk it seems. I know it must just make those horse's day when you stop and pet them. We are getting an Arby's here in my town finally! I do love me a baked potato with broccoli and cheese!

That's quite a route you walk. The best part would be the horses. How nice they came over for a visit with you.
Hope you had a lovely time at church.
