Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Barn Collective

Linking my barn picture up with Tom for his Barn Collective Series.
Took this picture last week in NY when visiting my mom.
 ðŸŒ¹     🌹     🌹
It turned a bit cooler after the warm day of rain yesterday and we had a
few snow flurries over night.
Walking this morning it was 27 degrees and just a few left over flurries.
Very windy too.
Walked up and down the streets around town and around the ball park loop
a few times.
Only went around one of the cemeteries, it was just too windy to go up around
the one on top of the hill.

No one else out walking.  Haven't seen Kathy for quite a while again.

Just as I was headed back home the wind blew most of the clouds away
and the sun came out.
Walked 6.3 miles

I walked on over to the library at 11:00 when it opened.  I've been trying to
put a book on hold and take one off at the library web site but it wasn't
working so I went over there in person to straighten it out.
All straightened out now with two more books added on my hold list.

We started another puzzle yesterday afternoon and realized the
picture on the box was different than the puzzle pieces.  In fact there were
two or three puzzles in the same box.  It was too confusing so we just
threw the whole mess in the garbage.

We started another puzzle today.

I've stayed home today getting some house stuff done.
Just the usual chores.

I was reading Readers Digest and came across a little article
called Welcome to Funny Name USA.
It made me smile to see my town mentioned.
Accident, Maryland
Here's a few other funny names - do any of you live in one of them?
 Needmore, Florida
Hopeulikit, Georgia
Beer Bottle Crossing, Idaho
Embarrass, Illinois
Monkey's Eyebrow, Kentucky
Owls Head, Maine
Tightwad, Missouri
Truth or Consequences, New Mexico
Boring, Oregon
Why, Arizona
Booger Hollow, Arkansas
Buttzville, New Jersey
Whynot, North Carolina
I liked this one,
Happyland, Connecticut
Anyway I thought they were funny and thought you might too.

Hope you had a happy day wherever you live.

I've been to Boring, Oregon and there is the small town of Honeyville, New York. Thanks so much for stopping by with this Christmas card perfection barn. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and stop back again.

When I opened your blog the heading above the first picture wasn't showing and I thought that you had that much snow and ours all melted. I even showed Carroll the picture. Then when I scrolled on down and saw how little snow was there, I scrolled all the way back up and saw that the top picture was from when you were in NY last week. Whew! I like the red barn. :-)

I read to Carroll about the attempt to do a puzzle yesterday afternoon and that you threw it all in the garbage. He said (being the tease he is) tell her, "What kind of resolution is that?" You have such a lovely place to work your puzzles, Karen.

Loved the Funny Names USA...thanks for sharing it! We both had a good chuckle. :-)

Hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow.

You don't have enough snow down there - want some of ours?

And can you show your puzzle?

Hi Karen, love the snowy barn photo! As The Furry Gnome states we can lend you some of our snow if you are missing it! But we are heading into a warm spell so I imagine we will lose some of it.
Have a good day!

Hello, I heard it was pretty windy in Maryland. I like the red barn shot. I have to Accident or at least thru it and I have been to Truth or Consequences New Mexico. There are some funny named towns. Happy Valentine's Day, enjoy your new week ahead!

Another pretty barn scene in the snow! We've been having strong winds and bitter cold so its been difficult to get out walking for long here.
Those are such comical names for places, my favourite is Booger Hollow!

First, I love your barn photo...as to the names, I have not been to any of those but have passed through Gnaw Bone, Indiana, and seen a sign for Bucksnort, Tennessee.
