Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A pretty morning and lots of birds

🌾     🌾     🌾
Temperature this morning was 34 degrees, very still and sunny.
When I leave at 6:30 the sun is not up yet but at least it isn't dark anymore.

Walked the Town Route again this morning.
Lots of bird activity all around today.
I saw the Red Winged Black Birds around the town pond,
Canada Geese in a few ponds, some landing, some taking off
honking the whole time.
The Killdeers chasing each other around,
I spotted a woodpecker, saw a Cardinal, and the crows were all over the
place, flying around and calling out to each other.
This one crow came to rest on top of a manure pile and I
quick snapped his picture.
All around I heard lots of birds chirping and it sounded as if they were all
enjoying the pretty morning as was I.

Walked 6.2 miles
🌾     🌾     🌾
The sun went away and it clouded up but before it started raining
we went up to Happy Trails.
Ken was inside working in the wood shop for the church project
and I was on the outside clearing some sticker bushes and small trees
off the side of this little hill.
This is before I got started.
This is what it looks like now after a couple hours work.
Next time we go up there Ken is going to neaten it up a bit with the tractor.
Then will probably make a stone wall.

It started raining just as I was finishing up.

Home this afternoon doing a bit more housework.

For supper we had steak and I roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts together.
Liked the brussel spouts best of all.

My son David called and we had a nice chat catching up.

A happy day to you.

Kim - I always have to make myself do my exercises but walking is always a joy and doesn't seem like exercise.
Dianna - Brenda's is about 8 miles up the road from us and overlooks Deep Creek Lake.

I love your morning walks, Karen! I made the decision this morning when I was outside snapping pictures in the backyard that once the weather breaks for good...you know when it is REALLY spring...that I am going to walk out here on our road rather than going to work out with Carroll. I would have taken a walk this morning, but I decided after being down for several days that I had better not push it just yet.

You did a great job on that bank, my friend! It looks so nice.

Thank you for answering my question about Brenda's. I think I have an idea about where it is now. :)

Enjoy your evening.

Such a beautiful shot of your morning walk.
Your day sounds like a very nice and satisfying one. Oh, and dinner sounds delicious!
I'm happy to say that a gentle rain is falling here right now.

What a wonderfully colourful image of the woodland scene.
Your crow capture is brilliant.
Ken has a big woodshed and it does look much tidier after all of his hard work.
Have a happy Wednesday :)

Hi Karen, wasn't it a gorgeous morning yesterday? So glad you saw all the birds on your walk. I saw most of the same ones as you did. Makes the world seem small doesn't it?
The wood shop looks great! Do you burn all the brush?
So nice you enjoyed a chat with David.
Take care.

The wood shop looks cute! You did a good job clearing the brush. We have a lot of birds here too. They are singing loud in the mornings. I love it.

You did a great job of spring-cleaning around your shed . . . I can't wait until our weather is nice enough to spend more time outside. I'm looking forward to getting out and working. Every spring we always have a couple of trips to the dump with yard and garden scraps. That first photo is beautiful, the light was perfect :) Have a wonderful day!
