Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thursday

🐞     🐞     🐞
Another morning that I got up late so got a late start walking.
That's happening a lot lately.
I think it is because every morning it's just so dreary and hard to get out of bed.
But once I'm up and outside I perk right up.

This morning it was 34 degrees, foggy and very still.
Walked over to the Dollar General and put up a flyer for a church event
on the bulletin board. Had to take along some scotch tape because this
bulletin board has no push pins.

Since I was out that way I walked around the industrial park.
Then headed back towards home and walked the hills behind my house.
Dropped the scotch tape off as I passed by the house.
Next stop was the post office to mail drop a letter down the slot.
Continued my walked around both cemeteries and then
back home.

Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Walked 6.6 miles
Found a dime
🐞     🐞     🐞
Baked the last batch of chocolate chippers for the kids for this Sunday.
There are some left over for us too and I put them in the freezer so
we wouldn't eat them yet.

Been working on the latest puzzle every so often.  Taking a while to get
this one done.  It's a pretty hard one.

We got to see the sun for a little while this afternoon.
Nice to know it is still up there.

Today was Baby Blanket day but didn't go this time.
By the time I got home from walking it was the time I should have been leaving.

Each month at the my book we put our names in a bowl and the name that
is drawn wins a book.
The last time I won the book, The Mountain Story by Lori Lansens.
I'm about a quarter of the way done with it and like it a lot so far.
Looking forward to getting back to reading it in a little while.

A happy day to you and a smile from me to you.

So the sun is still up there? I haven't seen it in a while and miss its cheerful rays!
A good walk today with a dime too! Enjoy your day!

I don't think dreary mornings help any of us get up too early ... certainly not me.
You got a good walk in though and found a dime!

Have a good Friday.

All the best Jan

We had some beautiful sunshine here today! The high was 47 and no wind! That was a blessing!

Glad you were able to get the last of the chocolate chippers made today.

It must be hard to get up when it's so foggy. We had a bit of fog early this morning but the sun came out by the time I drove to the Farmer's mkt. How fun to find money today! Hugs!

I agree that it is harder to get up when it is gloomy outside. The sun has a way of making us feel more energetic. I'm amazed by how often you find coins on your walks. I never do, but that's probably because I am only walking in the neighborhood by people's houses. No towns or industrial parks involved.
Congratulations on your book win. Hope you were able to get some reading time in today.

I am always more tired and sleepy when it is rainy and overcast, so I totally know what you mean. That book sounds interesting. I hope you will tell us more about it when you are finished. Have a good Friday!

Hi old friend, I've missed keeping up with your posts! Just been busy and preoccupied. I have a lot of reading to do, but I am glad that you are doing well. Better late out of bed than not out of bed, right? I've not been hiking in a while but eventually will update my blog with a couple of stories. Carpe Diem, Happy-K!

Hello, it is hard to get and go on a dreary morning. I love the sunshine too much. The book sounds good and your cookies have me craving one now. Love the quote! Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

It has been very dreary here too Karen. I am like you though once I get outside I perk up too.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm guessing General Dollar was flipped by a typo. Or Dollar General is going to be upset that someone has that kind of name

Your right Adam, it was a typo. Thanks : ) I fixed it.

I agree with you. Due to the weather it is really hard to get up in the morning...
