Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Quilt Barn (16) Barn Collective

Linking up with Tom again this Monday for the Barn Collective series.
Went for a ride today and got a few more pictures of barns with quilt squares on them.
Here's one of them.
This quilt square is on the barn of Johnny and Sue Logan.
The pattern is Turkey Tracks
done in red, white, and blue.
Located in Deer Park, Garrett County, Maryland

🐄     🐄     🐄
It warmed up and this morning it was 38 degrees.
Went out for my walk but only had a short 2 mile one.
Though it was warm, it was raining, and the snow was not yet gone.
There were icy patches around but with the water on top of them it made it hard
to see the ice and it was extra slippery.
After I slipped and almost fell, the thought that came
mind was  "Go Home" so that's what I did.
👟     👟     👟
Made blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
Wrapped all my Mom's gifts and packed up her Christmas box and got
it ready for mailing.
Ken and I then went out to do a few errands the first was
going to the post office.
Walmart, Lowe's and the Dollar General were stops we made too.
While we were out is when we found a few more barns with quilt
designs on them.
👟     👟     👟
The temperature remained at 38 all day and in the morning
it was a drizzly rain, but by 2:00 it was starting to clear and the sun
came out for a little while.
By this time all the snow was gone.
I decided to walk over to the library and drop off their
Christmas cookies that I made.
Planned on coming right back home but since the weather was nice
couldn't help but go for the rest of my walk.
Walked around town, and the two cemeteries.

Loved the sky and lighting in these two pictures.
So ended up walking my 6 miles anyway.
2 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.
Found a quarter this afternoon too.

For supper I made us one of those super sized salads
with lettuce, spinach, celery, almonds, pecan, oranges, croutons, and craisins.
Topped off with Ken's Lite Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette dressing.
It was quite tasty.

A nice relaxing evening at home tonight.
Reading, knitting, watching Netflix and
having ice cream.

A happy day to you.

Those final two photos look so beautifully golden. There is definitely something about the light. Your mother is going to love her scarf! It'll be so soft and comfy for her that it will be like having a hug from you whenever she wears it.

Interesting new quilt barn! I love the 2nd picture of the barn, the quilt block, and the hillside. Your quilt block patterns seem to be largely different from familiar quilt blocks up here.

Hello, I love the quilt barn and the beautiful views from your walk. Awesome sky capture. Chocolate chip is my favorite flavor of ice cream. Great quote. Enjoy your day!

Beautiful photos . . . your walks must bring you such peace. I really want to make a barn quilt for my barn . . . maybe this spring :)

I really enjoy seeing the barns and the quilt squares in your county as we have nothing like this here.
Glad you had your walk when it was safer!

I like the quilt squares on barns, what a fun meme. Smart girl to head back home when you did. Nice that it cleared up for you to finish your walk.
