Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Quilt Barn Square 14

Monday is time for the Barn Collective series and I'm linking up with Tom.
This square is on the barn of Wendell and Ruth Beitzel
located in Garrett County, MD on Rock Lodge Road
between Bittinger and McHenry.
The design is an Ohio Star done in red, white, and blue.

A very windy and cloudy morning as I headed out the door for my walk at 6:40 and 22 degrees.

A very haphazard walk with no pattern to it.  Just walked all over the place.   The picture is the trail behind the ball park loop.  Not much of a trail but still nice to walk along.

I wasn't surprised not to see anyone else out walking.
I had many layers of clothing on and really did stay nice and warm.
Walked 6.2 miles
🚶     🚶     🚶
Finished the first jigsaw puzzle of the season.  This one had only 500
pieces to it but it was pretty hard.
Puzzle Number One
Number 2 has been started already.
🚣     🚤     ⛵
We spent the day down in LaVale doing a bit of shopping.
It was 8 degrees warmer down the mountain there and no snow.
Both there and home the sun was shining but still very windy.

We had lunch at Applebee's.

That's it for today.
Plan on spending a nice quiet evening at home.

A happy day to you.

The Ohio Star block has always been a favorite of mine. Simple, but oh so bold. Your 6.2 mile walk sure is ambitious, I hiked over 3 miles Saturday in the Adirondack Mountains. Thanks so much for stopping by this week, I hope to see you again soon.

Hi Karen, very pretty quilt barn square. It looks like you have about the same amount of snow we have. We didn't meet anyone on our walk today either!
Have a nice evening.

I must just say I like the new look and picture to your blog.

Always nice to see the barns ... and sometimes a haphazard walk can be so enjoyable
Well done with puzzle number one - here's to puzzle number two!

All the best Jan

What a beautiful barn1 I think the Ohio star is my favourite pattern and it looks so good on the barn in red white and blue! Very patriotic!
Wouldn't it be fun if you could walk someday along the paths with me and I could join you around the ball park loop! Its a pretty picture!

It has turned colder here too, but not as cold as what you have. I sure admire you for walking every day! That looks like a hard puzzle to put together.

Like the new colour scheme.

It snowed gently all day here. Interesting that you down there and I up here had snow on the same day. I hope that it doesn't last.

The quilt square looks so pretty against the red barn.
We were watching the U of M football game over the weekend as they were playing in the falling snow. None here, but it has gotten much cooler.

I always enjoy your quilt barns. At 22 degrees, I'll let you do the walking! I know - I'm a wimp. Applebees for lunch would have been good though! Have a good day.

I haven't eaten at applebees in forever. Funny enough one asked to use a picture I took for Neko Random at a local carnival to highlight the local community. I never checked in to see if they put it up or not
