Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tuesday

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
A cool and foggy morning for my walk today.  It was 62 degrees.  By the time I got home though the fog had burned off and it was sunny.

I walked the Farm Loop.
If you enlarge the picture you can just make out Farmer Bill there at the end of the white fence about to cross the street.  When I got up to him he stopped and we had a little chat.
The cows were out at the dairy farm and the two pot bellied pigs were out in the field with them too.  Today the goats were over by the barn with the chickens.

Once I got back to town I made a loop around there and one of the cemeteries before heading back home.

Walked 6.4 miles.
Found 2 dimes and a penny

Bowling day and we left a little early to get a few errands done.
Library
Lowe's
Tractor Supply Co.
CVS
There were six of us bowling.  Fun but no record breaking scores.
After bowling we had one more stop to make.
Walmart for groceries then home.

Ken and I both were in the mood for a good hamburger so we went back in the car and went up to The Ridge for some burgers.

Quite a few little sunflowers have popped up over by the bird feeders in my little meadow.

I've been blogging friends with Art for quite a few years.
He has a blog about the many hiking trips he takes.
I enjoy reading about his hikes and seeing his scenic pictures he takes of the wild life he encounters.
This particular hike he met a bear.Thought you might like to read about it.

And so another day goes by.
Hope yours was a happy one.

Lovely photos as always Karen. I especially like the tractor in the field.
I popped over to Art's blog. What a terrifying experience! I was wondering what happened to the bear that was visiting your feeders. How sad.

Something about that tractor sitting in the field looks so peaceful to me. Your day sounds like a nice one.
I will head over to read Art's blog. I can't even imagine coming face to face with a bear.
By the way, I emailed the recipe to you yesterday. Hope you received it.

Yes it is sad about the bear.

We've had quite a lot of rain but lots of sun too. A good mix for summer.
Enjoy your day too. : )

The fog makes is seem peaceful too. Nice and quite. It's on Farmer Bill's land.

I really like your pictures, as usual! You have named your walking paths loops; if you went through an orchard would you be walking the Froot Loop?! Sorry - too much coffee this afternoon! Have a great day :)

I think it's fun to bowl just for fun and with no pressure. The last time I bowled was in a league and I was the least experienced bowler. I felt bad if I didn't do well and brought the team average down. Always love to see the photos you take during your walks. Have a great day.

Your pictures are always so very pretty! We had fog here on Monday morning. Our oldest daughter has spotted bears in her driveway a couple of times this summer!

Yes, you should give it a try, but it is more fun I think with a group of people. : )

Seems to be more bears around lately. Bear hunting season is coming up and I think they are going to be allowed more than one bear this year.

Yes, Art had a pretty scary encounter!
Thank you. : )

We went to tractor supply for the first time the other day. I heard they had baby chicks and was curious to see if that was true. Daisy was disappointed to see no chicks, they apparently are only around in spring-time.

happyone said...

Yes, in the spring they do have them. They are the cutest little things.

Hi Happy-K. Yeah, I was glad that the bear eventually went his way and I went mine. For a moment or so, I was not sure that was going to be the case, and I didn't see how I would get the better end of that deal. thanks for the info on making the comment replies! :^)
