Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Too many

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

This morning it was 72 degrees, sunny and no breeze making it the hottest morning this summer.

I walked through town and up Barn Sale Rd.  I walked all the way up the hill and turned around by the last curve in the road.  Don't go to the very end because there are a couple of mean looking dogs at the last house and sometimes they are loose.

Once back to the main road I walked toward HT a ways before turning around back to town.  Walked around the cemeteries and the ball park loop.

I saw a couple of deer and then later saw some more - a doe and her twin fawns.  They were all on the move and I couldn't get a picture.

Walked 6.3 miles.

We drove down to LaVale again today.
Had to get a wedding shower present at Kohl's.
Also picked up some of those inserts for my walking shoes and tomorrow I'll see how they work.
Went to Lowe's too to get some panels for the walls in the cabin.  They didn't have what we wanted in the Lowe's closer to home.
Hopefully tomorrow we will be getting some of them put up on the walls.
I will take some pictures of the progress.

Finished reading A Rule Against Murder by Louise Penny.
The 4th book in the Chief Inspector Gamache series.
Another great one that I really enjoyed.

I planted way too many cucumber plants this year and they are growing all over the garden way out past the area made for them.
I think next year I'll just plant 4 instead of 12. : )
Too hot in the house to cook today
(unusual for it to be this hot here)
so we are going out to Brenda's and have salads for supper.
On the way home we will stop and buy a new supply of ice cream.
Doesn't happen often but we ran completely out of the stuff.

Hope your day was a happy one.
happyone : )
Todays quote is one from the book I just finished reading,
A Rule Against Murder.

"I count my blessings...
We're all blessed and we're all blighted....
Every day each of us does our sums.
The question is,
what do we count?"

That is a lot of cucumbers. If you like pickles and feel energetic, you could set up a pickle making operation. Of course that would work best when the kitchen cools off.
Love your first photo today. Another peaceful one.
I look forward to seeing your progress on the cabin.

Oh, what a beautiful area you live in and have the blessing to walk around. I just cannot get out and walk when it's too hot....the heat this summer seems to have gotten to me much worse than in past years, but of course I'm older, too. ;-) That's a bunch of cukes and they're so healthy. I bet you're blessing other folks with them, too. Mine didn't do well at all this year...again, the heat! Thanks for working with me on my comment dilemma....I have no idea what was wrong with Blogger (or me...;-) yesterday! HOPE you have a wonderful Friday!

Good morning Karen, that is a lot of cucumbers! My parents always planted lots and made pickles every year but it is very hot work.
Very hot here this morning. You must have sent the heat up here! It is finally going to cool off this weekend.
Have a good one!

Hello, Love the view of the farm and red barn. It is hot and humid here too, the AC is getting a work out. Great quote, I do count my blessings. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

That first picture is just beautiful! I've wondered if you ever encountered barking or mean dogs on your walks. Our cucumber vines did the same thing, covered the tomatoes vines and I had to pull the cucumbers vines up. Take care!

I don't know why, but the cucumbers taking over the garden cracked me up! Still enjoying your blogs.

I always enjoying seeing your photos of the countryside where you walk and those farm buildings are lovely in red against the green!
Glad you're all good with the ice cream supply again!!

Too hot to cook is a great excuse to go out for a meal and be pampered.
Have a wonderful weekend :)

I'm a bit obsessed with walking! : )
Lots of cucumbers but my peppers didn't do good at all and the tomatoes are just starting. By the time they get red we'll be dealing with frost!!

Pickling the cucumbers sounds like a good thing, but just too much work for me. I'd rather buy them in a jar. : )
Hope you get your cool weather tomorrow.

We don't have AC but hardly ever need it here. Yesterday would have been a good day for it. : )

Thank you. Just for fun I've entered the first picture for publication in a country magazine.
I think I'll be doing that to the cucumber vines too. : )

Planning on coming down in Oct.

Thank you.
Life is good when there is ice cream in the house. : )

Yes, it was a good excuse. Especially having salads. I could have made that at home. : )

Sounds like too much work for me. : )
Thank you.

I've been eating a lot of salads lately. Mom isn't a salad eater so I still have to cook. :( It's usually around 73 degrees out when I take Mandy for her walk. It feels pleasant to me knowing it will get a lot hotter later. Have a great day.

Cucumbers have grown well ...
Salads are great in the summer aren't they!

All the best Jan

Salads are good and quick and easy.
73 isn't bad if there is a breeze.
Hope you get some cooler weather.

They are running wild. : )

Amazingly well.
Yes they are and in winter too. : )

We always see deer up at HT. They like to come by our little pond. : ) I love to watch them.
