Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

🏡     🏡     🏡     🏡
60 degrees with some low hanging clouds this morning but it wasn't long before the clouds moved along and left a sunny day.

First day back to school for the kids so saw lots of kids and school buses around town.
Most of the same bus drivers but also saw some new ones.
I'm sure the new ones will be waving to me before long too.

Stayed in town this morning and walked up and town all the streets and also walked the cemeteries and the ball park loop.
In this picture I'm standing in one cemetery looking up towards the other one.
Kathy was out walking as well as Mike and a man that was walking a dog.
George was in town too.
Lots of activity around town this morning.

Walked 6 miles.
Sunrise 6:43
Sunset 7:25

Today the Super Seniors group from church met at Perkins in McHenry for lunch.
A nice bunch of people and always enjoy our outings.
I had French toast.

When we got back home, Ken went up to Happy Trails again
and I stayed home.

I worked on the latest baby weave-it blanket.
I have three of the strips sewn together.
Strips four and five are completed and just have to be sewn on
and have started row six.
There are ten rows to the whole blanket.
No problem getting this one done before the Baby Blankets group meets again.
And that's been my day.
Another good one.
: )

A happy day to you.
happyone : )
As long as there are tests,
there will be prayer in schools.

I love the fog. And I thought about you when I got that bag. You need to get one too.

Love the pics, love the fact that you have 60's. Here in TN it's 70's still in the mornings and lower 90's in afternoon. So ready for the changeover. Good job on the knitting or is that crocheting? I would love to learn. I have too many hobbies as it is I guess and working FT but I love seeing the work that others do. It's inspiring. Glad you had a good day.

Has the humidity gone? It's cooler here, but still so muggy that it can be quite uncomfortable. Your days are always good...a state of mind and heart!

Hi, Karen! Today marked the fourth week our schools have been in session here! There will be a fall break this term, then W-F for Thanksgiving, and off for Christmas break. First semester will be completed by that time. We've had a few mornings with fog here, but it doesn't seem to be as many as in past years. The weather lore around here is "August fogs mean winter snows!" Never seems to happen, though.:-) - xo Nellie

Love the photo of the mist hanging like a veil over the other cemetery
Great to see another baby blanket coming along well!

I like that end quote. Its more true than people think. I always reminded my daughter to pray when she felt struggles at school. She was a staight A student. I would say,
" they can take prayer out of schools but they can't take prayer out of you".

That does sound like a good day.
School started here yesterday too. The bus stop is right in front of our house.
I like the colors you chose for your most recent weave it.

French toast is hard to pass up, good choice! Your blanket is coming together quickly. School doesn't start here until after Labor Day. Have a lovely day!

Amazing blanket, never seen it one made like that before, very interesting.
The Schools don't go back here until the 7th Sept. It's nice when they're off as there isn't so much traffic on the roads when you go to work. I'll have to start leaving 10 mins earlier again.
Have a great day :)
