Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Happy to be home

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
We got home yesterday evening and let me tell you, it is so good to be home again.  It was a whirlwind of a month.  Thanks again for all your prayers, kind words, thoughts, and for caring.
My mom is well settled in the nursing home and actually likes it there and wants to stay.  What a blessing that is with me being so far away.
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Went for my walk this morning around town.  I walked up and down all the streets, the cemeteries, and the ball park loop.  It was 50 degrees and cloudy when I started but not long after it was full sun.  Woke up a bit late this morning and didn't start my walk till 7:15.  I figured I must have needed that little extra sleep.
Saw a couple of people out walking their dogs and stopped to chat with the woman at the day care center.  All the kids were outside playing enjoying the nice sunny morning.

Walked 6 miles.

Got some laundry done and hung out on the line and then we went up to Happy Trails just to check things out.  Everything fine up there but it is a bit overgrown and we have lots of work to do there.

Had a couple of errands to run which we did after lunch.  Stopped at Walmart to pick up some groceries.

I mowed the lawn and then came in and cooked supper.  The weeds have run amok and I have a LOT of weeding to do. Have so much to do and just not enough time in the day, but it will all get done eventually.  Just nice to be home. : )
I'll be around to visit you all in the next few days to see what you've been up to.

A happy day to you.

I love that quote you have at the end there. A friend recently shared a poem about the death of a loved one. It compared it to a ship leaving port and slipping over the horizon, but just as we stand here and look and say, "She's gone!" someone else far away is just seeing her and is saying, "Look! She's coming!" It was such a comforting thought, and I love thinking that Jesus and the Father and the angels are all waiting eagerly for our loved ones and saying, "Look! Here she comes!"

Glad you're home again. The weeds will wait for you :)

My new lawn is terrible to cut. It took me days because I had to take turns because of the heat.
