Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

This and that

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
52 degrees this morning and it rained the whole time I walked.  Wore my rain pants and had my umbrella.  Didn't wear my rain slicker because I would have been too warm.

I walked all around town.  Didn't see anyone else out.  Everyone inside staying dry.
A couple of rabbits were out and lots of Robins.  I think they are out eating all the worms that are all over the place.

The picture above was taken a few days ago.  I didn't even take my camera out of my pocket this morning.

No one came to pick up all the junk at the curb that we all put out for the clean up yesterday and it still sits there.  Someone did go through our junk though and took away an old weed eater that doesn't work and an old plastic thing that hold hoses.   Hope all the junk around town gets picked up today.  Nice to know someone can use our old junk. : )

I walked 6.3 miles.

Everyone thing went well last night at the new church in WV which is about 1 1/2 hours from home.  The building is in an old bank and it was fixed up really nice.  There was a pretty good turn out and some new people from the community were there as well.  Hopefully they will make this their new church home.
The cookies were a big hit I'm happy to say. : )

We were excited to see a new kind of bird show up this morning at the feeder in the back yard.   Ken looked it up on line and found out that it is a Rose Breasted Grosbeak.

Posting a bit early today because we are off to go to a doctors appointment.  We still go down the where we used to live even though it is a 3 hour drive because I like my doctor a lot.
Having my feet checked out.  For some time now they have been feeling a bit numb and I kept thinking it would just go away but it hasn't. Would appreciate any prayers.  Thanks. : )

A happy day to you.

I just knew the cookies would be a big hit!

I love the scene in your first photo and the Rose-breasted Grosbeak does look a beauty.

Hope all goes well with your Doctors appointment ... thinking of you and saying a prayer.

All the best Jan

I can't name most birds. My brother was very big on birds and typically could tell everyone in the local area

I am not surprised that the cookies were a hit. Oddly enough, we are not joined in weather woes today. This is a first in a while. Saying a prayer for good health and nothing that can not be easily explained. (I sometimes have numb toes and would you believe that my face is still numb after the tooth extraction? I am told that that could last up to 18 months or even forever. I don't like hearing that bit.) Your Rose-breasted Grosbeak is a beauty. Now I want to hear his song.

We could actually use some of that rain now; it's getting awfully dry here.

Hello, I also thought the cookies would be a big hit. This weather has been a real downer, I am hoping to see the sun soon. I have been seeing the beautiful Rose-breasted Grosbeaks for over a week now. You may see more soon. I hope all goes well with your doc appt. Have a happy Wednesday!

Hope all went well at the doctors.
What a coincidence! I spotted a Grosbeak two days ago too.
We have been very dry here. Send some of your rain up here!

Good luck at the doctors. Im thinking it could be a result of a pinched nerve somewhere. Ill say a little prayer for ya.
I love watching birds that come to my bird bath. They are comical at times.

Good luck with your doctor visit. Lovely bird. So far this year, I've only had Mr and Mrs Cardinal visiting at mine.

It's always exciting to see a new bird at the feeder and your newest visitor is a beauty. Glad you were able to get a picture of him,

Hope all goes well at the doctors. Was just catching up and saw you are thinking about having a meadow area in your garden. Great idea. You can create lots of interesting shapes simply by mowing paths through or around it. I've seen pictures of a whole maze done that way. I get completely different butterflies in my tiny patch of meadow.

Hi Karen - I hope you get a good report from the doctor. I always have "foot issues." Will remember you in prayer. Hope you have a great weekend.

It is always wonderful to spot a new bird - and the Rose Breasted Grosbeak is certainly striking.

I love the rose breasted grosbeaks - they are gorgeous. I rarely see them.

I hope that they can figure out the numbness in for you. Is some ways, that is worse than pain.
