Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Friday

Thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts.
I'll keep you updated.

The temperature was 48 degrees and it was a wet and cloudy morning but nothing falling from the sky when I left on my walk.  Had on my rain pants though and grabbed my umbrella as I went out the door just in case. My two pairs of shoes never did dry completely so had to wear a slightly damp pair.

When I opened the door to leave there was a rabbit not far away.  Wasn't quick enough to get a picture before he took off.

Walked all over town, around the cemeteries, and the ball park loop.  At times I would leave my umbrella in different places so I didn't have to carry it around and then pick it up again on the way back.

I'm glad I had my umbrella because I did needed it during the last mile or so. : )

The horses were out down by the Drane house but confined to the barn area.  They are usually out in the field.

At the pond today there was only one person fishing.  A woman was walking her dog around the pond and it was barking and I don't think the fisherman cared for that much!

Walked 6.4 miles.

Ken was out during the day and I was home doing stuff around the house.  I made some chicken noodle soup this morning for Ken's supper and I had some of it for lunch. I posted the recipe back in January and you can find it on the post HERE if you would like it.

I've been listening to an audio book while I worked around the house today.  It's a book by Sandra Brown.

I'll be out at church having supper this evening as it is the Mother/Daughter banquet.
I can't help but think how nice it would be if I could take my mom, daughter, and two granddaughters along with me.  : )

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.

"I remember by mother's prayers
and they have always followed me.
They have clung to me all my life."
~ Abraham Lincoln

Edit:  I ended up not going to the banquet.  Ken got home late and I ate with him.  It was a rainy night and though I don't mind driving in the dark or the rain, I don't like driving in the dark AND rain.  So I decided to have a nice quiet evening at home with Ken. : )

That sounds like a nice walk and then the banquet. I like the horses near the barn.

The earth sure does look pretty after a rainfall. You really had a great walk! Nothing like homemade soup on a rainy day. Wishing you a Happy Mothers Day!
hugs,

Hi Karen - So sorry to hear about your mom and step-dad. Changes do come as we get older and even though they are not fun, God will see us through the tough stuff. I hope you have a very Happy Mother's Day. God bless you all.

Lincoln's mother died when he was very young, a rather sad story. I think she died from milk filled with bacteria. Louis Pasteur could have saved her life if she was born a little later.

Its so hard seeing our loved ones age. I pray that you will know God's peace with all the changes and arrangements that have to be made.
God bless this Mother's Day weekend.

Hello, lovely scenic views and I love the horses and red barn. This rainy weather can be tiresome and depressing. I hope we see some sunshine this weekend. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
