Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Wednesday

Two geese again but today they are in the sunshine.
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

46 degrees this morning and it was so nice to walk in the sunshine.  : )  Walked all over town including both cemeteries and the ball park loop.  Took the picture on a short path behind the park loop which dead ends here by the water.

I mentioned a while back about a woman who drives her truck one block to the ball park loop to take a walk with her dog and I always wonder why she just doesn't walk there.  Well today we stopped for a chat and I asked her.  She explained  that she drives to her daughters house to pick up her daughters dog and comes here to walk him.  So now it makes sense. : )  I'm glad I asked.
Another woman was out walking too - I've seen her a couple of times and also a man who I see fairly often was out walking his dog.  A few other people were out around town and everyone was happy today.  This nice weather makes everyone smile. : )

I walked 6.4 miles.

David arrived last night and we stayed up till 2:00 talking.  He left this morning right before lunch.  A short visit but a happy and good visit all the same.  He was on his way to NJ from Colorado.

I've been toying with the idea of painting my kitchen cabinets white and have decided to go ahead and do it.  It is a project I can do all on my own without help from Ken.  I plan to start it next week.  I think it will do wonders for brightening the kitchen up.  I'll be sure to take some before and after pictures.

I spent most of the afternoon reading my book and finished it.  A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny - book 2 of the Chief Inspector Gamache series.  Liked it a lot.
A couple of quotes I liked from the book.

"I'm a happy man, madame.  I' very lucky and I know it."

"When you see the worst you appreciate the best."

"Where there is love, there is courage
Where there is courage, there is peace
Where there is peace, there is God.
And when you have God, you have everything."

Supper time and tonight it's spaghetti.
A happy day to you.

The geese look so grand. Lovely light in the photo.

If your cabinets are wood stained and sealed, I'd recommend using a oil-based primer called Zinnser cover-stain. If you have to do the water-based route, go for Zinnser bullseye 123Plus primer.

Sunshine goes a long way in lifting the spirits. Your walk sounds like it was extra happy.
How nice that you had a short, but sweet visit with David.
Your idea for painting the kitchen cabinets sounds ambitious. You're just the woman for the job :). I look forward to seeing the before and after shots.
Those are all wonderful quotes. I must remember to try Louise Penny out as an author.

Painting your kitchen cabinets white is going to be a big project, but I am sure you will do it with a lovely result. Thought about painting mine, but afraid that will not come out looking good. Can't wait to see what yours will look like. Another idea for having a sunny kitchen is skylites. Pat has two in her kitchen and Eric has one in his kitchen and it is always bright and at night you can see the stars.
