Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Smile Tracts

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
It was 29 degrees this morning and sunny.  More snow fell last night and we were left with another dusting of snow on the ground.  Some of the places I walked were pretty slippery and had to keep an eye out where I walked.
Stayed mostly on the main road because it wasn't icy.  This is the main road than runs through the middle of town and I headed down towards the turn off for HT which is down a bit on the right.
Walked only part way up Sale Barn because it was slippery and turned around here.
Walking along the road to one of the cemeteries was pretty icy but once I got on the road around it, it was fine.
Didn't see anyone else out this morning.  Sure is nice to see the sun. : )

Walked 6 miles.

I cooked the parsnips yesterday and we liked them a lot.  I'll definitely be making them again.  I put some olive oil in a baking dish with some salt and pepper and thyme.  Then added the parsnips, some potatoes and a carrot and mixed it all up.  Baked it in the oven at 450 degrees for about 45 minutes.  They were delicious.  The parsnips tasted like sweet carrots.
Ken went up to Happy Trails today but I stayed home to get some things done around the house.
Baked another batch of chocolate chip cookies and now I have enough for the kids at Sunday school this week.

The month of April at our church is tract month.  We are split into two teams and we hand out gospel tracts.  The team that hands out the most during the month gets served dinner by the other team.  This year the teams are called Happy and Glad.  I think it would be appropriate if I were on the Happy Team.  : )
Today I had a box of tracts that I counted into piles of 10, put a rubber band on them and then put them in groups of 100 with another rubber band.
I counted out 2,700 with 22 extra ones. This helps us keep track of how many we hand out.  Other people in church are counting more boxes.  I really like these smiley face ones. : )
So that's been my day today.
This evening I'll spend reading, watching some television and knitting.  No ice cream.  Today my snack will be a cup of cinnamon toast crunch.

Hope your day has been a good one and you smiled often.
happyone : )
Three thing that made me smile today
  1. Sunshine
  2. Being able to help out with the tracts
  3. Half price pizza at Brenda's for supper

Lovely snowy scenes but slippery indeed! Well done you, for still walking 6 miles!
Hope and pray the tracts reach many receptive folk!

Oh yes, I think you are meant for the happy team. The tracts look very happy, indeed.
Your parsnip, carrot and potato combo looks yummy. I was surprised at their sweetness when I had them too.

I love Parsnips! Some people I know have never even heard of Parsnips, but they are one of my favorite vegetables. I love that you are sharing the good new of Jesus with so many others! Way to go. Where do you go to give them out? I hope you have a great day. I always enjoy reading about what you are doing.

Thanks for beginning this with one of my favorite Bible verses from Psalm 118. I must get some root vegetables and cook. I copied your recipe.
