Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A little more snow

My neighbors barn.
No animals around anymore.
The snow was just starting to stick on the grass.
Doesn't seem like spring today.

34 degrees this morning and cloudy when I headed out the door.  A few minutes later I saw the first snow flake and it wasn't long before it was snowing.

I walked up and down the main street in town, the cemeteries, over by the ball park, and then up and down the side streets around town.

Walked on the short trail by the ball park too where the snow was just started to stick.

Saw some rabbits and the usual geese that now seem to always be by the town pond and the pond by the Drane house.

Peggy was once again out walking and I saw George again too.  He was whistling.  : )  Whistling reminds me of my gramma, she had a beautiful whistle.

By the time I got home my pink sweat shirt had turned white.
Walked 6.2 miles.

It's been snowing all day but it has been too warm for any accumulation.  The grass is covered but the roads remain wet.

Next Sunday is my turn for making the cookies for the kids at Sunday school so I made the first batch today of chocolate chippers and have 70 cookies ready.  I put them in the freezer and will make the rest another day.  I was going to make sugar cookies into crosses and then ice them because it will be Easter but decided 120 cookies would be too much work so they will just be getting chocolate chip ones.

Got more of my book read and some knitting time in too.

Ken is at church this evening for supper.  Just the guys are getting together for what they're calling a steak out. : )  Steak, baked potatoes, and beans.
So I got to have a breakfast supper of pancakes.

A happy day to you.
happyone : )
 Three Happy Times Today
  1. Reading in front of the fire
  2. Even though it is snowing again, it's not amounting to anything
  3. Pancake supper

Interesting barn with the bottom smaller than the main floor.

Hello, love the barn shot. I could eat pancakes for dinner, YUM! I like your three happy things, I was so glad to see the snow lay and then melt. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!

That is the kind of snow I like - just enough to make everything look pretty - but doesn't stay for long :)

I love pancakes for supper! The snow is so pretty, even if it is spring. Have a blessed day.

Oh dear, more snow, just when you think the weather is improving. It's turned very cold here again, a shame for all the fresh shoots on the plants.
Happy Sunday Happyone :)

Great photos Karen. We are supposed to receive some snow this week too so I guess winter isn't quite over!
Take care.

I hope that this is the end of spring snow. I find myself feeling grumpy seeing white stuff. John is frustrated that he swept the driveway when it melted all away already. Oh well...he got some of the dust and dirt swept off, too. I always love your pictures and any talk about chocolate chippers makes my day.
