Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

14 years old

What a happy surprise to see this bit of spring walking this morning.
: )

Another sunny morning for my walk.  It was 35 degrees but quickly warmed up so most of my walk was in the mid 40's again.

Happy to report that the horse Star is up and about today and running around the field.  I knew you would set me straight Ruta about the horse.  Thanks.  : )

Saw my first red winged-black birds of the season.  Lots of other birds around too chirping and enjoying their morning.  Birds always seem happy and cheerful to me.  I'm pretty sure that morning is their favorite time of day.

My walk this morning took me around the Farm Loop.  I saw another walker who I'd never seen before.  Was surprised when she said she thought it was cold out.  I guess she doesn't walk in the winter!!! : )  She was friendly and I think I'll probably see her out walking again.  Sometimes I'll see the same people out walking quite regularly and then I don't see them again for a long time but then after awhile they start up again. I've lost count of the people who tell me they start walking because they see me out there every day.

I saw Joe driving up around the Farm Loop.  I don't think I've ever seen him up that way before.  He's always in town.  For those of you who don't know, Joe works for the town and I see him in his truck just about every day.

When I got back to town I made a pit stop at my house and then left again to walk the last 2 miles.  Left a couple of layers of clothing at home.
Walked 6.2 miles.

Nice to be able to hang my laundry outside again.  Don't know how long this nice weather is going to last but I sure am enjoying it.

Ken and I went out for a little while this morning to a hardware store which we haven't been to before. The only thing we bought was some bird seed on sale.

It was finally nice enough for me to give my car a washing.
Ken took a picture of me washing it this afternoon.
Here she is all nice and clean.
This month is my cars birthday.
14 years ago I drove my dream car home.  : )

Took my car out for a little spin after it was all nice and clean.

While the hose was out I cleaned up an old window frame that we had sitting around.  I love the old glass in it.  It is eventually going to end up on a wall in the house after fixing it up a bit.  Hope to get around to actually doing that very soon.
I'll be walking to the library at 5:15 for my book club meeting after a quick supper and Ken will pick me up afterwards and then we'll be off to church.

A happy day to you.

How great you are having such wonderful weather. We are too. I would love to hang some clothes out too but we have been having rain on and off.
Lucky you seeing some crocuses!

The spring flowers are so uplifting. Your clothes look happy flapping in the wind. I'm with you. Birds are happy, and they make me happy when I hear them in the morning.

I can't wait to get my car washed after mud season clears. Happy Birthday to your pretty red car. I notice that the snow is gone. We lost a lot of snow today in the nearly 60°F heat.

I had to pop round to check on Star, glad she's up and about!
Your Spring flowers are gorgeous, so uplifting after all the snow.
Your dream car is stunning. I always think they drive a little smoother and quicker when they are shiny clean!

Old windows like that make great frames for pictures. You could have your lovely pictures printed and make a wonderful collage!

I too love the sound of birds in the morning. I love your stories. I admire old windows. I have one from the families "old House". It hangs above my mantle as a picture frame. The one you show here would be so pretty hung with pressed flowers behind the panes. Cant wait to see what you do with it.

Oh my - my dream car! Mine would be cherry red. I got to sit in one once. They are not easy to get into, at least for me. So glad to hear that Star is up and running around. Have a great day.
