Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Day Twenty-two of Thanks

Giving Thanks Day Post Twenty-Two
The Bible
I am thankful for my Bible!!
Of all the books I have THE BIBLE
is the one I treasure.

It is so much more that just a book.
It is the Word of God.
The Bible is a powerful book that
can and does change peoples lives.

Every day I read my Bible and at the end of the year
I will have read it entirely.
I've done this for many years
but still I learn new things ALL the time.

II Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof,
for correction,
for instruction in righteousness.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit
and of the joints, and marrow,
and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart.

Revelation 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth,
and they that hear the words of this prophecy,
and keep those things which are written therein:
for the time is at hand.

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away,
but my words shall not pass away.

I am so thankful that God has given us the Bible
to learn about Him and how we should live.

  4. Hi Karen, Congratulations on doing such a great job with posting something thankful every day. I have not checked in for a few days and had to go back and look at several posts. I loved it that you thanked teachers ... That would be me :-) before retirement. The cabin at HT looks so different without leaves on the trees! Loved the walk pictures! Great acronym for Bible - Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Great! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Ken.
