Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Day one of Thanks

For the month of November I'm going to be blogging differently than I usually do.  Though I am thankful every day for the big and small things in my life,
every day this month I am going
to devote a blog post to one thing I am thankful for.
They will not be listed in any particular order except for the first one
because without the first one all the others
wouldn't be possible.
Next month I'll go back to my usual posts.

Day 1

I am so very thankful to Jesus for my salvation!!
Just to think what Jesus went through to save me from my sins
and to give me the gift of eternal life is beyond my ability to thank Him enough.

 II Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.
(Jesus)

Ephesians 2:8 & 9
For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God.
Not of works,
lest any man should boast.

Psalm 105:1, 2 & 3
O give thanks unto the Lord;
call upon His name:
make known His deeds among the people.
Sing unto Him,
sing psalms unto Him:
talk ye of all His wondrous works.
Glory ye in His holy name:
let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

By the way - I've taken some pictures with my new camera and I am disappointed in them.  They are not sharp and crisp and I will be returning the camera and getting a different kind.  Maybe I'll go back to a Nikon like my old one.  Any one have any recommendations for a simple point and shoot camera?  Thanks.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Hello, Great idea, we all have lots to be thankful for! Sorry you are not happy with the new camera. I do not know a lot about the pocket sized cameras. Enjoy your Sunday and the week ahead!

What a wonderful idea for blog posts, Karen!
Too bad about your new camera.your old camera did take such lovely photos. My point and shoot camera is a Kodak easy share. It only has a 5X zoom though so maybe not enough. I use my Sony bigger camera when I want to do close ups.
Have a nice day.

Sorry about your camera. I would recommend a point and shoot Canon (something called Powershot). I've also heard Olympus is good.

Hi Karen, Sure sorry to hear about the camera. That camera definitely took some of the best, sharpest, clearest pictures! I really don't know what to recommend. I don't know if you do any shopping on line or not. I do a lot of my own shopping with Amazon. I've found their prices will beat just about any of the brick and mortar stores like Costco and Walmart. They also will allow returns for any reason for 30 days. Even if you don't shop with Amazon I recommend taking a look at their listings for point and shoot cameras and notice the reviews by customers. I did take a look at the Samsung WB50F on Amazon. They say the list price is about $180 and they sell it for about $135. Using their scale of 5 stars, 5 being best, the Samsung WB50F got 55% with 1, 2, or 3 stars, and just 45% with 4 and 5 star reviews. So, it sounds like your thoughts on the camera are similar to most of the folks who have purchased one on Amazon. Hope some of this helps and good luck on getting another good camera.

I enjoyed your post so much, Karen. I am looking forward to reading here this month. Over and over again I think of God's amazing grace in giving us His only Son to die for our sins that we might be reconciled with God. Hugs.

I have really liked my Nikon Coolpix, which I have had since 2010, but it looks like it is broken now. I am not sure what kind to get. We sent a Sony with my son to Mexico and so far, so good for that one. I may stick with another Nikon, but I really have not even started looking yet. Can't believe your cameras both died the same week. I love these "grateful" posts.

I love my Nikon Coolpix, though it is not as good with distance shots. I am going to enjoy reading your posts this month...may not be here daily, but will catch up!
