Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Frosty Rose

The end of my knock out roses for this year.
Frosty Rose
☀     ☀     ☀     ☀
This morning it was 26 degrees and frosty and when the sun finally rose it was nice and sunny.  Sun just reaching town when I was getting back home.  Made for an invigorating walk.  I had a few layers on and stayed nice and warm and had a great walk. : )

Tweaked my town walk route a bit and now it is just right.  Here are a couple of frosty pictures along my way.
The man who runs around the ball park loop was there today and the first time we passed I asked him how many times he runs around the loop.  He said 5.  The next time he passed me I asked him if he ever though about running up to the cemetery and back for a change.  He said he might just do that.  : )

The usual people waved to me from their cars, trucks and buses.
Walked 5.5 miles.
☀     ☀     ☀     ☀
Did a load of laundry and a couple things around the house before we left for our bowling.  My bowling scores this week were worse than usual.  : )  86 - 96 - 97
There were 8 of us this week and afterwards we went to Pizza Hut like last week.

We bought our own Mexican Train game and we got it in the mail a couple of days ago.  Tonight me and Ken are going to play it.

The frost last night killed the rest of the flowers growing in my yard.  The day warmed up in the 50's and was sunny.  A beautiful fall day.

That's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

The rose is beautiful even with it's frosty coat. It's getting pretty nippy here at night too, but so far no frost.

The petunias were pitched over the banking today. I will certainly miss them. I was hoping that the last buds on my knock-out roses would bloom before the frost got them. Guess not. It never got above 38° here today, but tomorrow's looking warmer. Mexican Train...must do more research on that one.

Sad when the flowers go, but I must say your rose photo is spectacular!

Have you ever played "Chicken Foot"? It's also a domino game and very fun. We are getting cold at night but no real frost yet. Janet

Good morning, your frosty rose is still gorgeous. It did get cold here too. The bowling sounds fun and is a reminder that hubby and I could be going bowling too. I have never played a domino game. Love the quote, it is so true! Enjoy your day!

Love the frosty rose. It's beautiful, though I know it won't last.
I like the "umph" quote. Sometimes a little more effort is all it takes.

Lovely photos Karen. We haven't had a hard frost here yet so alot of the flowers are still alive. We are wearing hats and mitts for our early morning walks now!

Gorgeous pictures! As much as the frost means winter is knocking on our door, still .. the frost is so beautiful!

Our temperature warmed up to a balmy 52 degrees today **smile**.
