Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Baby Blankets

☀     ☀     ☀     ☀
Left the house this morning at 0 dark 30 with a temperature of 40 degrees.  A nice crisp fall morning.
Drane House

Walked up and down all the streets in town and down the main road out towards HT.  It has been so dark that I like to stay around town under the street lights.

A couple of rabbits were hopping around by the cemetery and a couple of people were out walking dogs.

Waved to all the usual people in their cars, trucks, and buses.

Always enjoy these nice crisp mornings.
Walked 5.5 miles.

Today was the first of a new project for the women of my church - making baby blankets for the newborns at the local hospital.  Only 8 of us showed up but we had a good time learning how to make simple baby blankets out of two layers of fleece.  The ends are cut into strips 3 inches long and then tied in square knots.  A couple of people had made them before but it was a new thing for most of us.  It is very easy though a little slow going for us beginners, but Charlotte has made many and she finished hers in the two hours we were there.  So we have our very first blanket done.

We found this jaw bone with some teeth in it at HT.  Pretty sure it's a deer.

We went out for supper tonight at Uno's.  With all the running around and cooking I've been doing lately, it was nice to sit down and be waited on. : )

That's it for today.  Hope yours was a happy one.

That's a good idea to stay under the street lamps when it's so dark.

The blankets look so soft. What a nice thing for you ladies to do.
I hate to imagine what happened to that poor deer. The bones are quite a cool find though.

I know the babies will be nice and warm snuggled in their blankets. You ladies spend time doing good things. God bless you. MJ

I love the baby blankets that your church is going to provide for the local hospital. They look so warm and soft!

Tomorrow will be the first day that I will be home to walk by myself in the mornings. We've been walking for a bit after Carroll gets in from work, but I like morning walks the best! :)

Have a great weekend!

The jawbone looks like a deer to me as well.
