Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A beautiful day

☀     ☀     ☀     ☀
This morning it was 50 degrees with some fog around but the sun was out too and I walked around the Farm Loop.
Saw George in his yard and stopped for a little chat.

A couple of deer were about and there were a lot of geese flying around making a lot of noise.  Sometimes they are so quiet and low that I can hear their wings, but not today.

I was walking down the main road in front of Annie's when I saw a mean looking dog on the other side of the street.  He waited for the couple of cars to go by and then he ran across the street right at me.  He wasn't barking or growling but still I was uneasy.  He ran right up to me, gave me a sniff and thankfully kept right on going.

I walked up the hill behind my house and then home.
Walked 5.2 miles.

After breakfast we loaded up the kayaks in the back of the truck and headed off for a couple hours of kayaking at the Savage River Reservoir.  It was a beautiful day for it.
We like to go along the shore line looking at the rock.  The water level was down very low so we got to see some we've never seen before.
Ken and I paddling along.

One last picture while kayaking and my favorite.
We left for home a little after 12:00, had lunch and then headed up to Happy Trails for the afternoon.  We cleared a little more area behind the tractor barn and made a pile of stone over by the rock crusher.  Cut down three more trees.

We didn't leave for home until 6:30.  Ken loaded the tractor onto the trailer and we brought the tractor down to the house.  There are some bushes that we want to get rid of and the tractor makes easy work of that.

It's been a busy and fun day and now it's nice to have a relaxing evening at home.  Looking forward to my ice cream (chocolate chip mint) which I'll be having shortly. : )

Hope your day was happy one.

I loved autumn, the one season of the year
that God seemed to have put there
just for the beauty of it.

That is truly a gorgeous picture showing the reflection of the trees, sky, and clouds in the water! Absolutely beautiful!! What a wonderful day you had - once that silly dog decided you were safe to have around. I am very nervous with dogs around. Enjoy that ice cream!

OK, time to try to catch up on Happone's life! :^) I am happy to see you out kayaking. That last picture is a stunner!

I love dogs but am always a little cautious about dogs on their properties.

Fabulous photos Karen!
I am always rather nervous of roaming dogs too. You just never know what they are going to do.
Have a wonderful weekend.
