Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walk, work, and watermelon

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

This morning it was 60 degrees when I walked and after the sun came over the mountain it stayed out in a bright blue sky.

It was very quite around town and I wondered where everyone was and then realized it was a holiday.

I saw a few rabbits hopping around and a cat ran across the street right in front of me with a squirrel in its mouth.

Walked down towards HT for a bit and then turned around and started back to town.  Turned and walked up Sale Barn for a bit to see the cows.
Walked around both cemeteries and the loop behind the ball park.
I walked 5.7 miles.

Yesterday our friend Cathy (who we give a ride to church) gave us some fresh eggs and potatoes.  : )  I love the rainbow color of eggs her hens lay.  This morning for breakfast I made French toast and used the eggs and home made bread that I made yesterday afternoon.  Yummy!!
Before going up to Happy Trails I hung laundry out on the line.  No threat at all of rain today. : )

We got some odds and ends done on the cabin today.  I painted the roof rafters on the bump out by the door.
Ken took down the scaffolding in back and started putting some up on the two sides so he will be able to get the two bump out roofs done.
All three back windows are cut out now.  You can only see one of them because they haven't been cut out from the wrap yet which we put up today.
We took a break for lunch and also another one later in the day and we sat and ate watermelon spitting out the seeds.  : )  I can spit a seed pretty far.

That's been my day so far.  Looking forward to my ice cream later on - I'm thinking tonight's flavor will be vanilla fudge.

Hope your day has been a good one and you smiled often.

Beautiful pictures. The first one with the fence and the flowers is exceptional.

Lovely images, I love the cows. It was a chilly morning yesterday during our walk. Sounds like a yummy breakfast. HT is looking good. Have a happy day!

Pleasant morning. - The Fence with the Goldenrod is such a pretty scene. Also loved the sunlight on the corn.
