Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Saturday at home

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
A warm morning at 70 degrees and more of the fog that has been around for quite a few mornings now.  I think this was the warmest morning of the whole summer.

Walked through town, down past the HT turnoff, and then back to town.   Walked around one of the cemeteries and the loop behind the ball park and around town some more and then home.

Passed a few people out getting yard sales set up but didn't stop.  I didn't want to see anything that I wanted to buy.

I walked 5.4 miles.

Ken went to Happy Trail after lunch but I decided to stay home.  I wanted to get some reading done because my book club meets on Thursday and I want to be finished with the book.  I sat out on the porch and read for a while.

The cone flowers and daisies are all dying so I went out and started cutting them back and also did a little weeding.

A couple of frogs hopped from the rocks into this bucket in our backyard and then couldn't get out.
We let them out by the water feature and they both hopped right in the water.  The smallest one disappeared behind a stone but I got a picture of the bigger one sitting on a ledge.  I hope they stay around.
I have garden gloves and work gloves.  My work gloves got a few holes in them so I got a new pair.  I got these in Tractor Supply the only place I've been able to find sturdy woman's work gloves that fit me good.
Connie stopped by the house this afternoon to thank me for the eggplant we made for her and Ron.  It was the first time they had ever eaten eggplant and liked it a lot.  I'm glad she stopped by because we had a nice visit.  Our properties are catty corner to each other.

So that's been my day at home today.  Still have ice cream to look forward to.

Life is Good, hope you enjoyed your day.

is that no matter what has happened
it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment.
And this is the moment you can choose
to make everything new.
Right Now.

You've had a nice day by the sound of it. Love the frogs, I couldn't see them in the bucket for a start so went back for a second look.
Enjoy your weekend.

Glad you enjoyed a day at home. Mine felt sad. We went to say goodbye to a friend in the afternoon. I think she could hear us but am not sure. She is now in heaven, greeting long not seen family. And because she was legally blind, she is seeing what her parents, siblings, and husbands - she was widowed twice - look like for the very first time. But we will miss her here on earth.

Hello, sounds like you had a nice walk and day. The frogs are cute, I am sure they like being around your water feature. Happy Sunday and enjoy your new week ahead!

I noticed my coneflowers are dying off too. We were foggy and warm too this morning. Love your frogs!

As I was reading through your posts this evening (Wed), you inspired me to have ice cream. I was wanting a snack, remembered a little Breyers vanilla in the freezer ... plus some leftover cookies. So I made a stack in a small bowl: cookie, ice cream, cookie. Yummy :) Thanks for the inspiration! Your work gloves look great. It's hard to find a decent pair, that's for sure.
